Breakfast ADRs and FP+ kiosks

We will be at BOG breakfast on the first day of our trip, and we would like to grab a set of SDFP+ from a kiosk to kick off the morning. Are the kiosks operating when they let the breakfast guests in? If so, which kiosk would be best? A quick stop at City Hall before walking down Main Street?

If they are not open early, what would be the best strategy for grabbing them without missing a chance to get in a SDMT ride?

By "SD" do you mean the 7 dwarfs mine train? If so, FP+ will likely be gone/unavailable the day of.

Book your fastpasses in advance.

Maybe she is one of the people that has booked a throwaway campsite for 10 with only a few in her party so she has to book those Fast Passs as SD for the phantom guests.

I think your best kiosk option would be right in front of Philharmagic (because of its proximity to BOG). I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question about whether they are operational before park openings.

Is this for an add'l set of FP's, hence SDFP? Anyway, I too am curious if the kiosks are operational this early(before Park actually opens to the masses)? Anyone with info on this? Thanks

Actually , there are several reasons to want to get SDFP+, two have been mentioned here already (didn't make FP+ reservations yet or throwaway campsite), another method would be to have an MB that is not linked to the same MDE account as the reservation. Those MBs could be used in addition to your linked MB to get additional FP+ (but only at the Kiosks).

In any case, it is a good question. I would be interested to know if anyone has an answer.

To clarify, I am talking about Same Day FPs that will be booked using bands from a throwaway campsite linked to a separate MDE account. I know that none of the really good rides will have FPs available, but we will happily take a set of lesser FPs if it will make the lines even a little shorter. For the record, we already have FPs for Seven Dwarfs Mine train at 9:30 that day, so rushing right to the front of that line is not a huge priority.

If the kiosks are operating early, I'd probably try to grab them on the way in, before getting to the restaurant. If they aren't operating until rope drop, the Philharmagic kiosk will probably be the best bet, but it will involve both swimming against the crowd and backtracking. Looks like lots of people have the same question, any insights appreciated!

When I asked this question on the fastpass thread about SDFP's, it seemed that the kiosks are not operational until opening (though rope drop is more like 8:45 instead of 9 at MK usually). I asked about morning EMH's and people weren't sure, but thought probably not. My guess here would also be probably not. I don't know if they would even let you into City Hall/kiosk with a pre-park open? I would focus on getting pics with the castle, enjoy your breakfast and hopefully quickie run through the Mine Train and then grab the SDFP, since you don't need headliners anyway (you have those with your other bands).

When we were there for BOG breakfast before park opening at the end of May, there was a CM standing in front of the kiosks and I asked if they were open and he said no. A little later (still before park opening) I just walked up to one of the kiosks and they did work. He did not stop me from using them. The closest is at Mickey's Philharmagic. If you aren't able to get them before the park opens, ride 7DMT and then get them. There are very few people at kiosks first thing to get SDFPs so 30 minutes or so is not going to make a big difference in what rides you get. And all the attractions were available during our trip for SDFPs except 7DMT and A&E. Now those 2 did become available during the day as people changed around their FP's.
