We are about 3 1/2 months out and I'm so excited I can hardly wait! Every trip to WDW is special, but this year is extra special. We are bringing my parents along and, as much as they drive me crazy, I'm sooo excited for them.

You see, my parents have always struggled financially. Many times while my sister and I were growing up, we didn't know where our next meal would come from. We never once took a vacation to anywhere -- not even pitching a tent and camping. My parents were too busy trying to survive and put food on the table. Things are a little better for them now, but they still don't have a lot of extra money. So, this year, at age 61, for the first time ever, they will be going with us to WDW for 10 days in November. We're staying at CBR and have free dining. I've planned all kinds of special things (unique restaurants that my family enjoys, HDDR, MVMCP, etc), and I'm still planning. This is probably a once in a lifetime trip for them, and I want it to be as magical as possible!!

I cannot wait to see their faces as they experience WDW!!

Have a wonderful trip. We took my parents to WDW a number of years ago and they really enjoyed it. They liked Epcot the best, although my Dad really enjoyed CoP because it had be a Disneyland and he had ridden it before it was moved.

I'm so very excited to experience this with them. They've had such a difficult life, and I am so happy to see them doing something just for fun.

It really sounds great , hope you have a magical time at WDW. I know you all will have great memories that will last a life time. So i wish you a safe and only the best on your visitpixiedust:

Doing the double digit dance...FINALLY! 96 days!!!! I'm getting even more excited now! I ordered Memory Maker, reserved an ECV for my dad, waiting not-so-patiently for Minnie's Holiday & Dine...

This is awesome. We are taking my in-laws (MIL, FIL and SIL) in September. The last time they were at WDW was on their honeymoon 34 years ago. My DW was in band in high school so she got to go march in a couple of parades at WDW, DL, Rose Bowl Parade and Macy's Parade but the in-laws never went with to see them. Needless to say a lot has changed since their honeymoon. We actually arrive on their 34 anniversary day (Sept. 19th) and then my wife and I are celebrating our 6th anniversary during the trip also.

You are a great child! Your parents are blessed!

What a lovely, thoughtful idea! One question I have (and I am not trying to rain on your parade really, because I think it is a wonderful idea!), but are you parents aware of the extras planned? Or is it all a surprise? Given their age, and whether they are used to the heat, and all the walking that Disney requires, they may not be up to jam packed days, but may feel bad declining things if you already have them planned and paid for. For example, they may say they will pass on the MVMCP, but tell you to go on with the kids. Just a suggestion, and you know your parents better than I, but you may want to fill them in on what to expect and include them in some of your planning.

Either way, I'm sure they will have an amazing trip and will appreciate everything you are doing to ensure they have a great time :)

So happy for your parents. Your post brought tears to my eyes! I hope you all have a wonderful, magical trip. I absolutely love Disney during the Holidays!

I'm getting even more excited about the trip as it gets closer! They do know about the extra things that I've planned, and the heat is not an issue since its November (and we live in the Deep South, so we're used to heat and humidity). I rented an ECV too, because my dad has issues with his ankles. They are night owls, like us, so they may spend a good portion of the days at the resort and join us for nighttime activities. They are really excited about the nighttime shows (Fantasmic, Wishes, and Illuminations), and the MVMCP. I just can't wait to experience it with them. I remember how amazed I was the first time I saw it :)

THREE YEARS CANCER FREE!!!!!!!
Congratulations! Here's wishing you a lifetime of cancer free!

I'm taking my BFF for her first visit. She's just celebrated 9 months cancer free and we are planning on enjoying the visit with the extra pixie dust of her being healthy!

What a wonderful milestone! Wishing you continued great health!

Your plans sound so fun;I'm sure your parents and whole family will have a magical time!

Thank y'all so much! Every follow-up visit with a good report makes moving forward easier. I was Stage IV, and not considered curable. I'm truly a walking miracle.

45 DAYS TODAY!!! Trip paid in full, MVMCP tickets ordered, Memory Maker purchased --- CANNOT WAIT!!
