Hi all!

Going home for our first visit to our home resort Sept 5. What should I ask for room request wise? we are in a standard view. I would like to avoid parking lot views as well as east pool construction view.

thanks!

DVC Mike's thread on DVC Resort Information (click here) has a map of the Polynesian Villas and Bungalows. There are three DVC longhouses: Moorea, Pago Pago, and Tokelau. Moorea is the only longhouse of the three with which you can be guaranteed that a Standard View studio will have a garden view. With Pago Pago and Tokelau, they each have one half of their studios facing the garden area. The other half of the Pago Pago longhouse faces the PVB parking lot, while the other half of the Tokelau longhouse faces the East Pool area that is currently undergoing construction.

I haven't heard whether DVC is currently using the Tokelau studios that face the East Pool, so you may not have to be concerned about being assigned to that half of Tokelau.

A current (as of 8-6-15) visitor reports that the west-facing rooms of Tokelau (construction side) ARE being used, so if you request "Tokelau West", be sure to specify "north end only", as these rooms will face the gardens of the Hawaii longhouse, with views from the balcony (when you look to the right) of the lagoon and Castle. You are also safe with Pago Pago NORTH ONLY of course.

Some have reported that the ferry boat noise from Moorea was bothersome, but on the other hand, it is the "closest" walk to TTC. But "on the other hand", also read that a guest reported they could hear the ferry boat noise from Tokealau as well. Read another post of another guest sort who liked the ferry boat noise in terms of the whole surroundings of the resort. Who knows?:confused3 I'm sure you'll ENJOY the resort!:thumbsup2 CAN'T WAIT for our October stay!:dance3:

So if this pool construction is supposed to be completed by "early 2016" does this mean that by June some of these Tokelau longhouse studios might essentially have a "pool view"? We're trying a std. view studio at the Poly in June and I'm trying to figure out what to request (not that I ever get any of my requests - I still like to try).
