Pillow family Alaska/Canada Mega Trip!

Loved ready your trip report. We sail next June on the Wonder and can't wait. I wanted to find out - what was
Your original stateroom and what stateroom did you end up with? We also booked an ocean view, not wanting to pay the additional $2500 for the 4 of us. I was happy to hear the upgrade worked for you. Did you find the waters
To be calm on your sailing? Thanks again for all of the great information and beautiful pictures

Yes, the waters were very calm. Our original room was a 9C on the second floor. We ended up in a 5B on the 6th floor. I would advise that you arrive at the port about 10:00 am if you want to try and upgrade. We were very lucky! Hope you enjoy your cruise!

We are 9c also...hopefully, this will work for us. Thanks again for all of the great information.

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful vacation with us. Alaska is definitely on my Bucket List and I so enjoyed all your pictures.

Loved, loved, loved your trip report! Our cruise head's out a week today (totally PSYCHED!!!) DD wants to do Steveston since we watch Once and are big fans. Question: were the buildings (Granny's Diner, Mr. Gold's Pawn Shop) just prop buildings - or is the diner really a diner you can eat at, etc? Can you go in them? We're debating what our last day before heading home. Pajo's looked sooooooo good!

Oddly enough, like you - we're staying at the Pan at the front of the trip and have been planing a day at Stanley Park (if the weather holds) and Fairmont at the airport at the end.

Thanks again for such a detailed report! :worship:

Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it. Almost all of the buildings are real businesses, but the inside is completely different (they use different interior sets for the show). Any Given Sundae is a complete facade though - nothing there at all.

I hate to say it, but I wasn't that impressed with Pajo's. The fries were kinda plain, and the fish was just plain old fried fish. Perhaps I should have added spices or something?? DS had some kind of breakfast sandwich though, which he adored.

We actually stayed at the Westin in Vancouver, but I hear the Pan is fantastic, and the walk along the waterfront is quite nice. Have a great time!

fyi... there are TWO Pajo's in Storybrooke. One on the wharf and one further West by Garry park. The park one is the better Pajo's.

If you are near Horseshoe Bay... check out Troll's. They use BEER batter for their Fish 'n Chips.

I sure hope your weather was better than ours! At least our Canada days were sunny.

We had a really good weather, even in Ketchikan the tour guide and all cast members told us that it was the best weather so far.

Good tips! We walked right by the Pajo's in the park but didn't stop.

I thought the entire Horseshoe Bay area was nice. We almost spent the night there pre-ferry, but decided that staying up in Whistler suited us better.

We loved the entire area and hope to get back there one day.

Thank you for the trip report. Just a question about apparel/ layers. Did you find it warm enough, at all, during the cruise to go without a jacket-type top layer?

Yes, definitely - especially on embarkation day and the day after (sea day). I just wore short sleeves on those days. Even on our bear excursion near Ketchikan, I got warm and had to remove my coat. On days where I needed to layer, I would wear a short sleeved shirt and either a sweatshirt/raincoat/sweater over it. The only day I wore long sleeves as a base layer was on Tracy Arm day. Hope that helps.
