Cm's suppose to stop group chanting

The "prime" times for South American Tour Groups are late June/July/early August(their Winter school break) and January/early February(their Summer school break).:)

How early in August are they usually there? - i'm thinking of booking in early August for my next trip and I would strongly prefer to avoid large tour groups. (I was thinking of booking next summer from August 9 - 15, something like that)

You should be fine-IIRC a Super Greeter told me August 10 was the "end date" this year.:)

They are worst among Britons, Germans, Canadians and Chinese. Maybe they wouldn't stack up as bad against other nationalities?

These results were produced via a self-reporting poll/survey. So, perhaps unsurprisingly, the American respondents were just a bit more candid than were their British, German, Canadian and Chinese fellow travelers ...?

Or maybe they're a bit too candid when they travel. I've heard from Dutch people that Americans seem to be more brash and open than many others.

Disney should just build a new 5000 room resort, call it "All Star Tour and Cheer Groups", and put all of them in there. Pit them against each other. Problem solved.
My wife made a suggestion that they should have an adults only section at some of the resorts or even make an adults only resort.

We were in HS last night and a tour group of teen girls was walking around chanting. Nobody stopped them. In Epcot a couple of weeks ago another tour group of teen girls had stopped in the area as you enter World Showcase playing music and doing a group dance. We were walking by so I'm not sure if that was eventually stopped or not. There have been a lot of tour groups lately. I'm in the parks frequently.

All January, or only half? We are trying January this year for the lower crowds and temps. Plan to leave on the 16th.

Thanks for the (very valuable!) info.

As the word gets around, more and more people will be avoiding those dates, not to have to deal with obnoxious behavior from tour groups. Does Disney want a situation, during certain times of year, in which most guests are tour groups clashing with each other? Granted, that wouldn't happen anytime soon, but it looks like we're inching towards that!

Just received a call from Disney today and found out cm's are suppose to be stopping any group from chanting. This has been a huge complaint issue for a while and if chanting or shouting is occurring, any cm is suppose to walk up to the group leader and ask them to stop.

and then we'll all go see the fairy princess together....lol.. I'll believe it when I see it. disney (and many web sites) don't want to risk offending international groups.

ps. the leaders, chaperones, etc. from some tour groupsare not actually adults, nor are they really chaperones. they are tour guides, not much older than the teens themselves. who are paid big bucks by parents to make sure the teens have a good time.

besides all the other problems at the resorts. (rude blocking on sidewalks, aisles, line jumping, loud chanting on the buses, soccer ablass banging against your window at 1 am these are all MY expereinces, NOT heresay. in July...
they DO throw your things off your pool lounger. not just a towel, but books, flip flops etc. and take your lounger. and even though some people may "find it hard to believe" the Cms did nothing when I reported it.. oh yes, they told me that "saving pool loungers is not allowed" ????? we aren't allowed to go to the DSA to have a smoke? this really happened. they took our lounge chairs, and then looked at us when nothing was done about it and laughed at us. TRUTH

You pit 50 cheerleaders from Tennessee against 50 from Alabama and they are all in line together for RnR, a friendly rivalry will break out and soon you have 100 loud girls chanting and singing. It amazes me that this is so off-putting to some. I really do get a sense of cultural bias bleeding through here.

Complete and utter rubbish. This has nothing to do with cultural bias but has more to do with appropriate behavior in a public setting. Screaming, jumping, singing, chanting, raised voices are not appropriate in enclosed spaces in Disney World.

I've never been to Brazil (or Argentina) so I have no idea if this type of chanting/screaming/raised voices is the norm down there. But I can tell you that it isn't here in the US. When I travel abroad, I take extra care to respect the customs and accepted behavior of a particular region. I expect the same respect from foreigners who travel to the U.S.

You mentioned this being similar to a sporting event in another post which is an apples to oranges comparison. At a sporting event, you have like minded fans with similar goals all cheering the same thing. One group rooting for one team and the other group rooting for the other team. That's not what's occurring with the Disney World chanting. It's just a small, rude, group of people living in their own world, behaving as if they're the only ones who matter, with complete and utter disregard for those around them. It's about as rude as it can get and if my child behaved like that, they would no longer be traveling.

Adults only resort would keep the chanting teenagers out, but it would also exclude families with children, so only group to benefit would be adults without kids. I'm guessing that group is too small a percentage of total visitors to justify the cost of a whole new resort.

You could make it adults and/or adults with children 5 and under. I don't believe I've seen any mob of 5 year olds stomping through the park, waving banners, and chanting. Apparently 5 year olds are better behaved than tweens.
