Cecil the Lion

I don't know... The ignore feature can be a wonderful tool. I don't use it often but it comes in handy at times like these. :)

I guess there's a first time for everything. I'd hoped it wouldn't come to that, but here we are. :)
Sometimes it helps just to keep things from escalating. I personally like to have fun and when the fun stops then it's time to use it.

I'm usually way too curious (nosy?) to go there though. ;)

I agree completely, but guilty of being curious myself. It's a tangled web I tell ya! :)

Must be something in the water.
Or the pixiedust: on the DIS
Correct. In the case of herbivores, some (or all) of the meat will be consumed within the camp. If there's excess, it's donated locally. In the case of carnivores, it's almost always completely donated as the hunting camps typically have plenty meat from more desirable animals.

I wasn't sure, but thought this was traditional.

My first thoughts were, regarding Cecil:

1) I can't understand, why anyone would hunt for sport.

2) How AWFUL! He was lured out of a protected preserve.

3) OMG!! They left it to rot, instead of feeding the locals?

What a waste...all around.

I'm sure it's real, this isn't the first time Dinolounger has plastered dead bodies on this forum. :sad2:

And it is totally fine according the mods. I reported dead body photos in the past and they were not removed (though I think that posts criticizing the pictures were removed).

I have to admit that, as much as I find what he did despicable (especially if it occurred as reported), the idea of death threats etc. (especially ones that target his office and are thus "personal") makes me squidgy.

About the bold face....Well of course, it makes most (99.9%?) of people not just squidgy but disgusted. It's unacceptable behavior. Period.

I don't know - there seems to be a lot of people (news, Facebook feed, forums, etc.) who are either doing the threats (though just on line) or cheering for them. I know that none (or almost none) of them would actually support any sort of actual attack, but they seem to be finding glee in the threats. Even in this thread, some people (more than 0.1%) have said that they wouldn't be sad if something bad happened to him (or even his family).

Trolls posting bizarre threats, comments isn't anything new. It's easy for them to sit un-showered in a dirty t-shirt and opine. Welcome to the interwebs. :)
I don't give them the time of day, and I am certain they don't speak for most by a long shot.

I'll have you know I'm already showered and my t-shirt is as fresh as a daisy! :)

Does the ignore feature work on quotes also? Just curious...

Yes. It didn't used to, but with the upgrade it now does. You see what quoter says, but not what was quoted. In other words, if someone had you on ignore, they'd see what I had added, but not the line of yours that I quoted.
