Sometimes The Onion articles hit close to home, enjoy!

I wonder if in 5 years, this will be the case. Especially since Disney regards anyone over the age of 9 as an adult!

Hmpf. Seems like the parents in that article have overlooked a very simple solution to their financial woes. Put their offspring to work. Have them earn their own way to WDW. Get them part time jobs at the local sweat shop so they can be productive in their off school hours instead of further draining the family coffers with music lessons, soccer practice and cheerleading.

hahaha ROTFL! Thanks for the chuckles--my solution is leave DH home and take the kids only (DH doesn't really like WDW--gasp!!)

Thanks for the laugh! If I left my son home and went to Disney I better not come home. He loves Disney as much as I do. I'd be asking Cindy if I could bunk at her place. :)

Heck, I'm leaving DW and DS home on my next trip in November. Just going to be me and DD and maybe one of her friends.

Lol! I did think on our last trip about how our decision to have four kids instead of one or two blew our Disney budget to pieces. It might be time for us to take The Onions lead and do an adult trip.

I have more than thought about leaving DS home with someone who might barely be capable of taking care of him to go to Food & Wine:) In fact, I am actually planning such a trip. However, DS will stay with someone responsible, but who is hopefully free:)

Cute.

Well for Thanksgiving DH and I are staying home, but paying for our 19 year old to go. My brother and his family will be there for a week including our son's 30 year old and 24 year old cousins. Plus his 21 year old cousin lives and works in Orlando. And we do want DS to get the chance to see all of them. My parent will be down there too, and he adores hanging with his grandparents too. With high crowds and the air costs in particular so high to fly over Thanksgiving (certainly don't want DS to miss any college classes), we have him flying down Wednesday morning and flying back Saturday night. Flight is about $450. Usually for spring break round trip air is about $300. And OMG if we had him fly back on that practically sold out Sunday, air would have been $850 and he would not have been going either. // Do note that DS attends our local community college. Otherwise, I think we'd have stay home to see him as we do enjoy him so much and would want that holiday time with him.

DH has never liked Orlando and I've had a lot of love for the past, but am burned out on it for the moment. That meant with the high crowds, high costs, and only one in the family with the real love, it seemed quite practical to just sent one of us.

See, clearly, the Gomez family from the article is not familiar with The Disboards because, if they were, they would:

A) Know that there is no character breakfast with Belle and the Beast

and

B) Know how to pick the right time of year and select discounts that would ensure they could bring at least one of their poor, deprived daughters to WDW.

:disrocks:
