Seriously - if you know ANTHING about the Tolkien Foundation? Chris is not going to give rights to ANYONE for this sort of thing.

Not speaking for the other individuals, but I know quite abit about the Tolkien Foundation; and you're right, the possibility of them releasing rights for an amusement park is about the same as Frodo sans ring standing against Sauron.

But it's always fun to daydream...and never hurt anyone.

BTW, he much prefers the name Christopher over Chris. I shouldn't have used it initially, but would prefer not to disrespect him too much; I'm sure it's a weighty burden trying to maintain his father's legacy.

1st, WD attendance has indeed been raising steadily. Tolkien thougth Disney movies/characters were to sweet, it doesn't mean he hated Disney. He admitted his opinions were based on him being something of a grumpy old guy! Seems he was not all that happy with Marvel, DC, Universal or most of Hollywood. Now that the family controls the estate, it has been confirmed Disney has talked with the estate, but nothing firm agreed to, seems the family wants the money.

Disney actually had the film rights to Lord of the Rings back in the 60's but the project never went anywhere. Eventually Ralph Bakshi got the rights and did his animated adaptation.
