This is my 1st choice because I would like to see the Wonder arrive the morning we depart. Is $311 a good price for 1 night?

Hmm, after doing further research, this is not great. Maybe I need to try the bidding thing and cross my fingers

We got it for less than $200 searching for a 5 star hotel on Hotwire. Search this forum for other tips on keywords that will help you be confident that you're likely getting the Pan Pacific. Good luck! :)

To clarify, which sailing date? July/August will be tough.

I got it at about $173 from Hotwire around 11 months out for August 24, 2015 sailing.

I booked through last minute travel I got it for 208.00 + tax so about 245.00 a night. It's getting closer to our trip( 5 weeks out) so I might try Hotwire. I'm going to have to some research on those key words. On the plus side Last minute travel is fully refundable. I don't think I would be comfortable booking through Hotwire months in advance unless I was ok losing the money if things didn't work out.

Travel insurance should cover the covered amount if it doesn't work out for a covered reason. If it weren't a covered reason, a night at the Pan would be small potatoes compared to the other parts that wouldn't be covered. :worried:

We stayed at the Pan Pacific this June. I booked it June 2014 on their website and had a $200 US rate. It was so nice watching the Wonder dock that morning.

I think we paid close to 200$US one weekend and closer to 3 the return or something. We just booked with a AAA card I think. It was fine for us. Beautiful hotel, unbeatable location.

I'm looking for July/August 2016 and nothing is avail, even directly through the Pan Pacific so I'll need to wait a bit.

That seems like a lot of money, even for Vancouver. Is that in Canadian or USD? I'm assuming you're an American, although, I'm not sure. Remember, the Canadian dollar is weak right now compared to the USD, so the rate in dollars would be a bit less. We stayed a few blocks up the hill and walked down to the dock the morning of the cruise to watch the Wonder come in.

Wait it out and see if you can snag a lower price on hotwire or somewhere else. $311 is a ridic price to pay for that hotel.

I'm going to wait it out and keep checking. If that doesn't work I'll be doing the bidding thing and hope I get it right. If I don't, at least we will be at a nice hotel right?

You need to wait a few weeks, but keep checking. The Pan doesn't open up their rooms until about 10-11 months out. I used AAA and got under $200 pre-cruise and about $225 post cruise per night, city view for 2014.

Looks like they just opened up booking through June at least - I just used Hotwire and was able to get a room for $229/night for a weekend mid June 2016! It looks like pre-pay or AAA rates through the hotel direct are around $270/night USD right now...

I can now book direct for my dates. I'm contemplating doing it since it'll be the busiest wknd if the year when we are there. I'll feel comfortable knowing it's locked down.

thats where we stayed it was so convenient...they took our luggage right to the ship and the ship is docked at the port right at the hotel..also across the street is a mall with tons of restaurants....mostly fast food but it was so easy to just walk across the street.....

It's just all so close in. On the right side you've got the hotel awning. You can barely see the street, and then on the left are other hotels, there's a Tim Hortons down in there totally not visible...

Little hint of the Wonder and Canada Place. :)
