Has anyone done the "Drinks around the World" at Epcot and care to share your experience? Sound like a hoot!

I've done it before! I was in a group of 4 and we had a great time. I split drinks with my friend to help with the cost going around but rest assured we were NOT sober leaving the park. Thank you Disney transportation for that ride home!

DS, DIL and I have done beer around the world (sharing at some places) wine around the world (again sharing) snakes around the world (you guessed it sharing) but only a few mixed drinks.

I've done it a few times. Never actually made it to every country, but definitely to several. The Grand Marnier Orange Slush in France is my favorite. I'm finally going to try an avocado margarita on our upcoming trip.

I got my lanyards for this- super excited to do it as well! I plan to share the drinks with DH. We may split the days as well since I'm doing Epcot for 2 days.

Drinking around the world is so fun! Some tips- make sure to have a hearty breakfast. One time, we had a really early ADR at Chef Mickeys that morning, got to Epcot around rope drop, hit up Future World and made it to World Showcase just before noon. Definietly pace yourself, and incorporate snacks too! IMO, the premixed sugary drinks are a waste of money. They'll use one regular bottle of tequila in the entire blended margarita mix- that works out to less than 1.5oz of liquor in your $10 slushie. But, if it's really hot, I'll get the GM slushie from France and find a bench in the shade to cool off and people watch. It is going to be an expensive day, so budget at least $100 for that day.

From a thread last month - http://www.disboards.com/threads/best-beer-cocktails-at-wdw-yes-i-love-alcohol.3422646/

Canada - Molsen Golden
UK - Welsh Dragon - Peach Schnapps, Melon liqueur, Creme de Menthe, Orange Juice, and Pineapple Juice. Or try a Beer Combo like a Black & Tan (Bass Ale & Guinness) or the Golden Fox (Boddingtons & Bass Ale)
France - I'd drink Red wine but the Grey Goose Citron Slush looks good
Moroco - Sultan’s Colada - Pina Colada with almond liqueur
Japan - Sapporo
American Experience - Sam Adams
Italy - Peroni Beer
Germany - Becks
China - Tsingtao Beer or Tipsy Ducks - a frozen concoction of cold tea and coffee blended with Bourbon whiskey and chocolate
Norway - Carlsberg
Mexico - Bohemia is my favorite but you could get a Dos Equis or Tequila

If you do a search you'll even find games for DATW or DAWS.

I was talking with my friend about doing this and neither of us are big beer drinkers. If we avoided beer whenever there was another option how many beers would we have to drink? Does every country offer an alternative?

From what I read in my Beverage Guide- yes, most countries offer wine or a mixed drink.

Drinking around the world is truly one of the best things to do at Disney World. Just remember to take it easy and dont worry about really doing every country. Just pace yourself and enjoy.

You won't regret only getting 7 or 8 countries. You WILL regret getting wasted at WDW and spending your evening worshiping the porcelain throne.

You can get a shot of Aquavit in Norway. Did that last time in honor of my Norwegian FIL who had passed away shortly before our trip.

Not sure if Germany has Jagermeister or not.

Skip the Mexican and United States pavilions and you'll be able to nail the rest without getting pukey drunk. The two pavilions stated are just too generic. A corona is not worth $8 and you can get a Sam Adams in any restaurant in the United States pretty much.

I would recommend skipping most things pre-blended because there isn't much alcohol for the price.

Quick tip on how we do it when you venture out for a Drink Around the World day. We do every other country and go around World Showcase twice. We hit all the countries, we just stop at every other one to keep us moving further between each "stop".

Also ... Mix in water between every drink and eat smaller meals (or share a meal) with others with you to help absorb some of tat booze. Pace yourself and have fun!!

I did this it was fun.

I started at Canada (I am Canadian so get the familiar over with). Let me tell you the Mexican boat ride hammered is not the most advisable thing to do. Speaking of Mexico that was the hardest place to get a drink because of their no foreign driver's licence rule. Took me a couple of times to get a place that didn't card me. Was really annoyed because I had just bought drinks from 10 different vendors, and by that time in the trip like 12 or more restaurants/bars/carts and not one of them had this rule and the Mexicans tried to say it was state law.
