Question about old hopper tickets?

I have a set of hopper passes from 2005 that I think have 2 days left on them. I haven't tried to add them to our MDE yet. I may only use one or two of the old tickets this trip because part of the family is getting AP's. They don't have barcodes on the back of them so I'm not quite sure how to add them but I know I've read that they can be added. Here's the question I haven't seen addressed anywhere...DD was 8 in 2005 and had a child ticket. She is now 18. If I try to add her old pass to her account, will it work to make reservations? I know at the park disney would trade them out for an adult pass if you went to the window, but how does that work for MDE?

First of all, are they MYW tickets? If they are, the are no good unless you bought the No Expiration option.

I'm not sure if tickets that old CAN be added to MDE regardless of which type they are. You may have to exchange them for new tickets.

Disney doesn't "penalize" for getting older. If the tickets can be used, they should upgrade it to an adult ticket at no charge. In this case, I'm fairly certain you would have to get the upgrade before adding them to MDE.

Seems I recall very specific instructions on the app for adding older passes. I added one from 2008 but believe there was a reminder that passes before some previous date could NOT be added on the app, just don't recall what that date was. So, assuming the passes (at least the adult ones) are no expiration ones, my suggestion would be to just go to the app and try to add them...I DID need a magnifying glass when I did it to help me see the faded codes on my older passes better! No other issues adding older passes. Good luck!

They are no expiration for sure. We've just gotten APs for years and haven't used them in forever. Our daughter is now in college and will only be joining us for a few days of our trip, so I want to use the old pass for her.

Wow! I just called tonight to ask about my 2005 no expiration hopper passes, with 2 days remaining. I found out that although they were originally purchased for my DH and me, we can continue buying our annual passes and let my son and his wife use the 2 days on the old passes (as long as we do not put them into MDE with our names). Currently, they have no name attached to them.

This is a nice surprise.

I would confirm this. Tickets are supposedly non-transferable.

If the tickets have not been used since before the MYW tickets appeared in 2005, they were in the era before ticket tags. They would not be associated in the system with any individual person, unless they were so old that they were from the era that required a guest signature on each ticket.

My old tickets do have signatures on the back of the adult tickets, but the kids never signed them, so I don't have a clue which one of my kids they belonged to now.

Cm at MK told me in May that paper tickets are not connected with the person who originally used them.
