Can adults order off the kids menu?

My daughter isn't really an adult, she'll only be 15 but according to the DDP, she's an adult. We will be on the regular plan. I am wondering if restaurants will allow her to order a meal from the kid's menu if needed. I realize it's not the best use of the dining plan but is it allowed? I'd rather get her something she will actually eat, than get something that will go to waste. Thanks for any help! :-)

Yes, everyone can prder off the kids menu. Since you're on the dining plan, they may offer to make an adult-sized portion of the kids selection.

Yes, at most restaurants anyone can order from the kids' menu. Some may offer to upsize the kid's entree, but if your daughter just wants the kid's portion you can pay for it out of pocket and save her adult credit for an additional meal or a 2 credit meal. Occasionally someone will post that a server or restaurant enforced the ages 3-9 printed on the menu so it is best to ask first.

Great to know! Thank you!!

I'll add this; I don't know if it's standard or just a one-off experience. At Be our Guest we were told that our "adult" daughter could order the kids meal, but the drink and desert would be extra; not be included like it would be for a child.

If the kids' meal is inexpensive, you could also choose to pay for it out of pocket, then save the credit for another meal.

Thank you!! Good to know! And thanks for the idea!

My 11 year old has been allowed to order off the kids menu at both the F! and WoC dining packages, even though he had to be listed as an adult on the reservations.

Just another option is to find something off of the adult menu and either make substitutions or order it plain. We had great luck with that. One of my son's doesn't like sauce, so you could leave that off. I think it was tonys where one of them got plain chicken parm without the sauce with plain noodles, and another asked for it with Alfredo sauce instead.

Or a fancy chicken sandwich with blue cheese sauce and onion Ala mode on a pumpernickel roll (not a real example, lol) could be asked for with no sauce or onions please, and could we have a plain roll, thank you very much.

My daughters both ordered off the kid's menu at BOG in March with no problems even though they were 10 and 13. They received a full kid's meal with dessert and drink and I paid OOP.

Does anyone know if you can also do this at sig restaurants-We plan to eat at Citricos, AP and Le Cellier. I am a fussy eater-I don't like fish and not bothered about most meat either. Would I be able to order from the kids menu at these -I know its a waste of 2 credits but Mickey is paying so we don't mind that! I'm just concerned I am going to get really sick of Tofu otherwise!

At a Signature restaurant, I think I would find an app or a side that appealed to me, pay OOP, and save those two credits. It looks like it's just you and your SO, so save those two credits and do an extra breakfast or lunch or something.

yes-after I posted I went back to look at the kids menu for those three and decided that would be too silly-I think the most expensive kids meal was about $11! I don't mind Mickey paying but lets not waste the mouse's money!

Yes, we have that situation with DS. He eats a variety, but we are going to order and pay OOP at a few TS restaurants, which will give us an extra meal on the DP for the rest of us. But, if he decides he wants something on the adult menu, we'll use a credit. At buffets, it's always frustrating because he'll eat a slice of pizza, some nuggets and mac and cheese and I'm paying full adult prices. One of his best buffets is Biergarten, he likes the meatballs, potatoes, gravy, salad, pretzel break and desserts!
