Hi Parents!
We will be heading to Disney at the end of September. Our youngest will be 11 months when we travel, and will therefore not have gotten her one year vaccines. Based on the recent measles outbreak at Disneyland, my husband is pushing to give the baby her vaccines early, just to combat any measles or chicken pox outbreaks. The problems? I don't want to give the baby anything she doesn't need. Our insurance won't cover the vaccines because they are before the 'recommended' inoculation timeframe. Also, the vaccines will basically not count because she's having them before her first birthday, so she'll have to get them again when they actually count. All my worries aside, I'm happy to do whatever is best for the babe. Has anyone done this? Does it seem like overkill or just being proactive? I would love to hear from other parents!!
