August Exercise Challenge: "Every Day is a Good Day for Disney - AND for Exercise"

Good morning, and Happy August!!

I'm starting off with my favorite kind of character photos for our first "Silly Saturday" - Disney characters with their animal counterparts. These two pics are from Pinterest:

Good luck to everyone who has signed up, or is here to sign up now. It's going to be a great month!!

I would love to join, never done the monthly challenge but its time to try it! I have a Disney trip planned for late Sept/early Oct so I am trying to increase my activity and drop a few pounds! I think I can go with 1000 to for this month - exercise won't kill me :flower1:

Quick ? since I am new to the thread, do I need to break down my minutes into type of activity? I am using my Fitbit that records my active minutes ie exercise and sometimes its a combination of walking and riding my stationary bike. If I need to list it separately I can do that, I would need to just keep track of it as I walk or ride.

I was tttthhhhiiiissss close to my goal last month, but despite the strong start, I just didn't make it.

August is a crazy month as the "kiddos" come back to the college I work at so there's a lot of prep. However, I also know that for my sanity and everyone's safety I should exercise. So I'll go with:

1600 minutes

today I'm at 78/1600.

I did a 10K today with 6,500 of my closest friends.

I decided that running a race is a lot like a mullet - business in the front and a party at the back.

My husband was MUCH more towards the front than I was and he talked about stats and heart-rates and passing folks and I lined up towards the back and had a great time high-fiving all of the little kids a long the way, checking out what everyone around me was wearing, reading spectator signs and encouraging and chatting with fellow run/walkers.

However you want to keep track is fine. I think people just like to include the type of exercise for fun. Just happy to have you aboard!

Absolutely! You can just say "30 minutes - walking and bike" or something like that. If you make it too much of a chore, you won't want to do it!

Good morning! The team got off to a great start yesterday, and we already have two color changes!!

Congratulations Rattpack & scdak on turning Cloudless Sky Blue!!!!

I have no minutes to report myself, as I was at a big family event yesterday, but I'll get everyone else's total into the first post right away.

For "Cinema Sunday," we have this trivia question:

We all know Walt Disney's first full-length animated feature was "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," and it even won little honorary Oscars, but what was the first Disney animated feature film actually nominated for Best Picture?
