When scheduling FP+ for October 1st, it's still an option. I would guess though, that Disney will either cancel the refurbishment or close it for good at that time.

Or Disney will just cancel any FP they issued if they decide to close an attraction into the 60 day window. It's pretty clear they don't have a problem doing that.

Oh yeah, I agree with you! By "at that time" I meant when the refurbishment is scheduled, so close for the refurb and never open it back up.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Disney announce a closure after people have already scheduled FP+. They had no problem cancelling people's Primeval Whirl FPs recently. I was just pointing out that the FP+ system is still allowing booking past the refurbishment dates for those who do not have access to see that.

The idea of adjusting Hollywood prices is pretty absurd. I have to imagine that the percentage of single day tickets that are sold for DHS approaches zero. The vast majority of people walking through those gates have some sort of multi day package, and a huge chunk of those have access to park hopping.

This is my pet theory ... that Disney is providing half-parks to go with the half-price tickets that they sell. Not because they're especially greedy, but because it's not possible to operate 4 parks in Orlando with the number of rides and attractions of MK when you're getting an average of say $70 per guest per day.

The discount-tickets-for-discount-parks equation will I think be maintained. MK is a full park, Epcot around 3/4 park not counting festivals, and it's steadily sliding back to the 1/2 park position. AK and DHS are stuck or are slipping back to 1/3 parks, so Avatar and whatever happens in DHS will bring them back to approximately 1/2 parks. I think.

if they are on the FP schedule, then there is a strong chance that the attraction will be open. If its been decided to close an attraction, it would have been decided by now and in the system.

Actually that's not totally true Disney can take an attraction down when ever they would like.

Lots of people just had their Primeval Whirl FPs cancelled due to what is presumably a lengthy refurbishment that you would have expected Disney to know about 60+ days in advance. And Disney announced the Animation building at DHS closing only two weeks in advance...sure, there weren't any FP+ there to cancel, but Disney asks resort guests to plan their rides 60+ days out and does not hold itself to the same standard.

So - how much does everyone want to bet that when they describe this at D23, they won't use the words "Construction or closure" but instead will describe it as a "massive re-imagining of the Disney Hollywood experience!"

This definitely makes the name change make more sense. If you are redoing that much of the park, why not rename/rebrand it too. I wondered what the point of renaming it was.

My friend heard from his DVC rep that they are constructing a new building over by the dinner show for one bedroom DVC's, any one else hear this? I remember originally hearing about a new structure (that wasn't overwater).

At the poly? The only construction still ongoing there is the quiet pool being rebuilt.

As for the wilderness lodge that DVC hasn't gotten fully underway yet. They will have 27 cabins just off the water. Then inside the main building club level rooms will be converted to DVC rooms.

Yea, at the Poly. I haven't heard anything outside of this.
