I have points with SPG so we will be staying for 3 nights at Sheraton Park August 16-19. Then we are moving for 2 nights to the Disneyland hotel. Mostly, because with the summer crowds I wanted to get in early to the parks. But, that means Wednesday morning I will be moving at 6:30 in the morning to the DLH.

Any input? Am I crazy? Or will I be happy we can stay at least 2 nights and 3 mornings onsite? Thanks for your input.

GO FOR IT! The DLH is pretty awesome, and I don't think 2 nights would be a waste of effort. There is a lovely bunch of pools to enjoy in the afternoon when crowds and heat build, and Trader Sams for poolside refreshments!

Plus, the early entry at DCA is strictly for the guests of the 3 on site hotels, so really really low crowds. Not sure on exactly what is open, but you should enjoy doing something over and over with no wait!

I say go for it too! We've done split stays before. The worst is when you stay onsite and than have to move offsite for the remainder of your trip. You will love staying at DLH.

If you were only doing 1-night at DLH I'd say it might not be worth the effort, but since you're doing two I definitely think you should go for it!

Not crazy at all! We stayed at DLH for 6 nights on our 3rd trip to Disneyland, and we loved it so much. The downside was, though, that now it's kind of ruined us and we just can't stay off-site knowing how wonderful it is to stay onsite! Last year we booked DLH for 7 nights, but then decided that our bank account just couldn't handle that, so we stayed at HOJO for the first 3 nights and DLH for the last 4 nights. We rented a car at the airport for the beginning of our trip and dropped it off at Alamo in DTD on our switchover day, so that made it easy to bring all of our stuff over when we checked in, and then we didn't have to pay for parking.

This year we're doing another split stay, but this time we're doing 4 nights at HOJO in a Kids suite and 4 nights at GCH. We're doing the same thing, and renting a car from the airport and dropping it off in the morning of the switchover day.

I think it's a great idea to do a split stay, especially if you're planning to do any non-disney activities. It would be silly to be paying Disney prices for the GCH and spend the day at, say Legoland or Universal, and not make the most of the amenities at the hotel when you're paying such a high price.

We have done this several times and will be doing it again next week. I agree that it certainly works best if DLH is your last stop because it's hard to top that!

Sounds like a good plan to me. I wouldn't do it if it interfered with my day at the park but your plans sound great.

Great info. Can't wait to see the pools at DLH.

I thought the same thing. Stay at the DL Property last.....

Do it.

We are at the Hilton right now and that Sheraton looks nice!

Oh, good! I have heard good things, but just not the same as on property....

I think we will, I'm trying not to think about the price and I keep thinking about the memories made....

Such great points. Yes, we plan on making the most of our time while at the DLH. We are not even renting a car at all.....

That's what I thought. The DLH should be a nice way to end the trip!
