Drinking around the world

My daughter has just informed me that she want to celebrate her 21st birthday at Epcot. I'm assuming we can all guess why. What tips do you have for making sure she has fun but doesn't end up in a state inappropriate for a family amusement park?

Eat at the pavilions as well as drink. I agree, share drinks and lots of water as well

Just take your time and go slowly. Also, consider a detour in future-world halfway through to break up the drinking. Just don't go on mission space, I made that very poor decision myself.

The world showcase opens at 11 and closes at 9, use those hours to pace yourself and make sure you are eating and drinking water or other non alcoholic beverages.

My sister and I are planning to do this, but as we're a little bit older and over the whole getting wasted thing (plus that just feels wrong at Disney), I think our strategy will be to split at least some drinks and think of it as "eating and drinking around the world" instead of just drinking.

Skip Mexico? But La cava de tequila is where the specility margaritas are, and I feel they are unique, if a you had to skip a country or two skip the US and refreshment outpost, list time I was there the outpost had just the base beers they had everywhere.

The outpost didn't have Safari Amber? That's sad.

water and eating are a good choice - also tell them to NEVER leave their drinks - another words - don;t both go the bathroom together - there are predators anywhere even at WDW.

be aware that WDW is probably got more camera than even London - so remember not to get too carried away. worst case you can be banned for life from WDW - pretty sure they want to return to WDW.

The current all ears.net menu shows it on there, but as I am one of those hipster craft beer people who loves the next new beer brewed with jalapenos and lime and Walt knows what lol. The safari amber doesn't really pop up in my radar, but that is my loss probably. But saves me money that can be turned into strudel or a pretzel.

When we drink around the world we do every other country. Meaning we stop at every other country and go around World Showcase twice. Drinks loads of water, try to eat throughout the "trip". And as I said ... We do every other country as this keeps you moving around pretty good.

If you just do ONE drink at each stop. Drink loads of water. Mix in smaller meals through the day. Everything will be much better, that's for sure.

I see all too often groups doing this and just getting wasted by either doing to many drinks at each stop ... Not drinking or eating enough ... Or getting pushed into shot after shot after shot and just getting blasted.

Drinking around the world can be a lot of fun and an enjoyable experience if it's done with some responsibility. It's not every day you have the chance to do it. So why just get wasted so you don't finish or even remember?

I have drank around the world many times and plan on doing it again next month. One of us tends to get a drink and the other gets a snack in each country and then we share both. we split a counter service water too. Suprisingly you can still get "tipsy" doing this as you are drinking a lot pretty quickly! However, I am usually tipsy after leaving mexico with my la cava margarita! :)

Snack and hydrate--and go very slowly.

Do they still have the tipsy ducks in love in the China pavilion?

Maybe because I live in San Diego which is pretty darn close to Mexico, nothing I can get at the Mexico Pavillion is unique for me. Sometimes I forget Mexican foods and drinks aren't common for everyone.

Share, share, share. DS, DIL and I do this often, one will get the drink and all three of us will taste it. We always have a bottle of water with us and drink it often between drinks. There are lots of times, one of us doesn't like the drink so that cuts down on consuming too much. Also, don't be afraid to toss that leftover drink, especially if you don't like it. DS used to think if he bought it he had to drink it, nope, no way, toss that puppy.

I have tried this twice and always quit after the first one or two countries. I think midday heat makes drinking around the world too difficult so try to avoid drinking during the hottest part of the day.

Be sure to try the tequila sampler at the bar inside the EPCOT Mexico pavilion La Cava del Tequila.
4 shots of tequila on one platter.
