we booked our FP+ and had 7 DMR at 5:30, before MNSSHP (we have tickets for the party that night). We got an email saying that they changed park hours and had to change our FP+ to splash Mountain at 2:30.... REALLY, since when does the park change hours at 5:30, and why would I want splash mountain. WE WANT OUR 7DMR back...anyone else get this nonsense?

Not everything after 4pm, but those who had fp's whose windows ended after 6:30pm were canceled.

The theory is they want to get day guests through the standby line as quickly as possible and get them out of the park. Apparently, last year they were escorting guests off 7DMT at 9pm and they don't want to tie up cm's doing that instead of other things.

There's also talk in the Theme Park forum that the cancellations are a glitch and everything will be restored within 24 hours.

The 6:30 threshold on party night makes more sense to me. They cancelled my Peter Pan, but I was able to grab one half an hour earlier.

I had 3 on the 22 and they canceled all of my. Peter Pan, Splash Mountain, and Little Meamid. They changed them all to ride before 4 but I'm not not getting to MK till 4PM. They also changed all my on September 25 and 27 both Halloween party nights.

They took mine away as well. I had 7 dwarfs and now the gave me Splash but at 2:30 in the afternoon. We will still be driving then. They did this to me as well back the end of May.

First, thanks for sharing the information on this, as it will help me choose for later date fP+. Do you feel you need the FP+ after the party begins (with admittance at 4pm) though? We've always found the standby lines to be rather reasonable at that time.

Wow, so not only does the party infringe on your allotted time in the park by shortening the hours to 7PM exit but it's also now reducing the FP hours as well? :sad2: Not good.

The party doesn't actually start until 7pm and fp's are not available after that time. But from what I understand, they aren't really needed either. There have been quite a few reports that even 7DMT is only a 15 minute wait during the party so there's really no need for fp's. Have you used fp's during the 4-7pm window and do you think they are really needed?

I think it's just trying to fix a mistake that shouldn't have been made to begin with. If you are a day guest and you are supposed to leave by 7pm, then you can't have a fp for 6-7pm because if you get in the line right at 7pm, you will not be through the line, done with the ride and out of the park by 7pm.

From what I gather, last year, they left the fp's alone and between the fp's and the standby line, they were escorting day guests out of the park after 9pm. I really think they are just trying to keep this from happening again.

Another way to handle that is to close off the standby line in time to get those who are already in line through the ride and out of the park by 7pm, but then you'll have a bunch of people complaining about the standby line being closed before 7pm and guests should be allowed to get in line up until that time, etc.

There doesn't seem to be any way to make everyone happy with this.

I'm curious if people who have MNSSHP tix & made FPP in the 4-7 window were bumped / cancelled as well...

We are going to the party on Sept. 27 and Oct 1. All of our fastpass windows ended by 6:30pm. None of our fp's were canceled or changed.

They should go back to closing Officially closing the park at 6PM on party nights. There were a lot less problems in those days. I see no reason they can't close off the standby lines early on party nights. They do it when private events are scheduled. There are plenty of times I've seen signs stating that an attraction will be closing early due to a private event.

The can get away with it for an occasional private party. I don't think it would go over well closing at 6:00 three or four nights a week, especially considering the high price they are charging for party tickets which is perceived by many as a "money grab".

A few years back they had no problem hard closing the park at 6pm on party nights and making the party guests who entered early stay in certain sections of the park until they cleared out the day guests. I don't see how they think having to escort people out of the park that didn't pay for the party is a better more cost effective solution. They also have no problem closing off parts of fantasyland for several hours every night for the fireworks.

When I first went to the Christmas party in the late 90's, it didn't start until 8:00 and went to 1:00. They cleared the park at 7:00. 9/11 came along and they had to find a better solution because of the bag checks. It just doesn't seem fair to charge $105 for a day ticket and close at 6:00. But you can spend another $70 and stay longer.
