Magic bands and offsite

We received our mb's and are staying offsite. I hope I am understanding this but could use some input. Seems like we can use the bands to enter the park and scan at FP stations. Other than that not a ton of advantages?? Not sure if it will have any advantages over scanning our card other than its on the wrist and we are not taking out our pass.

Offsite:
- Park entrance
- fast pass
- photographers (you can also use a photopass card)
- automatically detected by rides for on ride video/photos (photopass card also works but you need to find your picture after the ride and tap your card).

Onsite: (in addition to the above)
- meal plan purchases
- room key
- charging to your room (if you activate/add a card)

At home:
- Unlocking additional content in the disney infinity system (link is 1 example)

What I wish it did:
- remove some of the slow process like figuring out your room when you want to send a gift shop purchase to the resort and not carry it around. the paper system is annoying.

Thanks for the info. I guess we will think about using them. No credit card information is required, correct?

Correct and that's only an option for a onsite guest. Just put your bands and tickets into your my disney experience and your ready to go (if they aren't already)
