ECVs on various transportation modes

Hi Everyone!
My son will be using an ECV during our next trip, which is a first for us. I have a few questions about ECVs and Disney transportation.
I know that when riding a bus, the ECVs are loaded and tied down first, then the rest of the bus is loaded.
What is the loading process for monorails? I seem to remember a ramp that the CMs put down, but is the ECV secured/tied down in the monorail car?
Boats - I know that ECVs are no problem on the large boats (DTD/Studios/EPCOT/BW area), what about the between resort boats?
As always, many thanks for any information!!

I have experience with a WC, but can try and answer a few questions. Yes on the buses EVCs load before other people, a small group of people can load with rider through the rear doors (ie 3 to 4 but not 10). If an EVC and WC both present, generally WC is loaded and unloaded first, depends on driver. WC and EVC can go on the "Friendship" boats between HS and EP and within EP, and can go on green flag boats between MK and FW (for HDDR for example). But neither EVC or WC can go on the resort boats (Contemporary, GF, WL etc). Monorails are easy, just load from designated handicap spots, they will put down a ramp and set a signal for where you want off. It is a tight squeeze though, and if busy you may end up waiting. Neither WC or EVC are tied down on boats or monorail.

Whoops EVCs on boats are always dependent upon water levels.

For the monorail, follow the regular line and a cast member will direct you to the loading area, you load on a ramp, no tie downs, I seemed to always drive forward on and back off. You stay on your ECV for the trip or can transfer to a seat.

The small boats between resorts can't load an ecv, the big ones like the Cruiser to Fort Wilderness can, on the Ferry you just drive on and park, on the others a cast member will help you with the procedure and where to park, no tie downs on the boats. You can stay on your ECV there too.

The buses load you first and unload you last, You usually transfer to a seat and they tie down the ECV,

Have a Great trip!

One last fast tip for your son: When riding the Monorail (or any vehicle where he will be seated on the ECV while it is in motion) set the parking brake (if his ECV has one). Also, park PERPENDICULAR to the direction of travel - so on the Monorail, pull in to the carriage, and park "sideways" to prevent rolling backwards and forwards as the Monorail starts and stops.

If he sits on the ECV on buses, he will be "tied down", and so you don't have to worry about parking in a perpendicular fashion, or setting the brake.

. . . yep.

. . . a CM will direct you
. . . just drive-on and drive-off
. . . no ties-downs

. . . those larger Friendship boats are fine
. . . however, if the water level is too low that day, ECV's cannot load onto the boat
. . . the smaller launches (small "pirate" boat styles between reosrt) cannot accept ECV's
