Lines at Antarctica Empire of the Penguin

I've read that the lines here get really long so it is best to do it first thing (assuming we aren't interested in the roller coasters and don't have Quick Queue). Of course, it would be nice to do this attraction later in the afternoon when it is really hot (going in early August), but my guess is most people think the same thing! Any recent experiences? Thanks!

When we were there last August, it was a five minute wait at the end of the day. We had Quick Queue but didn't need it....there was no line for either the QQ line nor the stand-by line.

I've never waited more than 5 minutes. Been on it several times, always in the morning or at the end of the day!

We were there on Wednesday and we did end up doing it early, just by accident. We went on Manta then headed to Kraken without realizing that Kraken did not open until 10. We decided to see the Penguins as we needed something to do to pass the time until 10am. We only waited a few minutes. I am glad we did it then because we never made it back to that part of the park the rest of the day...our plan was rides in the morning then shows in afternoon. It was a hot day, we stayed from open until close but never were that uncomfortable that we needed to specifically seek out AC.

Good point! Thanks for the advice!

Am I the only person who thinks this attraction is not worth any kind of wait? I loved the penguin viewing but the actual ride just didn't do anything for me and we waited about 30 minutes. I know it might just be me.

I've never done it so I at least want to try it. I'm sure my kids will at least enjoy the Penguins as you did!

Do you know if Kraken usually doesn't open until 10 or if it was just late the day you were visiting? I'm going in Nov & planning on a similar rides in the morning & shows in the afternoon approach.

Great question and honestly, I am not sure. It seemed like it was the norm but I just tried to search it out a bit and can't find any info either way. Sorry!

No you're not alone,I love Sea World but this ride is a dud.I used to like to just walk inside the penguins building to just see the penguins, now I have to wait in a 30+ minute line to do a ride that as you put it is not worth more than a 5 minute wait,I think they kinda blew this one.

I agree! I just rode this a few days ago and can't understand why there was such a line?? Definitely nothing to be waiting for! And when we got in line mid-day it said 25min wait. A huge storm started coming thru. We had already been in line for at least 20min & it wasn't moving! We got out of line because of the storm and noticed it jumped to a 75 min wait! what?? How does that happen? We came back about 30 min before the park closed and it was still a 25 min wait. So not worth it! The penguins are super cute, but the kids were freezing in there and didn't want to stay very long!

Penguins are a favourite of many guests, plus its a ride that virtually the entire family can enjoy together, so those two factors combine to make it a very high-priority attraction for lots of visitors.

I just got back and noticed many people were coming in from the back exit just to see the Penguins.
