Adult Students in College Program?

Hi everyone! I have a question for anyone who might know. I am an adult college student (33 years old) and in my senior year of an international tourism and hospitality management program. I have to complete an internship for my degree and would like to do it at WDW.

My question is: While I assume people in the college program are generally 18-22 years old, are there any students there that are my age?

Hey!
I did the College Program a few years ago and noticed several adult CPs. Its only a handful, but, they were there and working!

Great! Thanks for the quick response. Good to know there are some adult students involved. I really hope I get a chance to do the program! :)

DD just completed a year on DCP following her graduation from college. One of her best friends to come out of it, that she still talks to constantly and planning to see next summer was also a recent grad from college in early thirties. Certainly wasn't the only one. I would say as long as you come young at heart you'll have a great time!

Nothing to worry about. CPs come in all ages. when I did my program, there was always a woman on the bus who worked at All Star and had to be at least 50. Everyone is just happy to be there and they all love WDW.

I'm starting my college program on August 31st and am 27 with a child. I've also spoken with at least 4 other people over 30 that are doing the program this year. There are really no worries. If you want to do it, just do it!

There was a 50 year old on my program a few years ago. It was actually great because she was very motherly with all of us. She said she didn't mind and had a lot of information to share.

My DD's boyfriend has a 53 year old in his apartment. And on the Dis Boards there was a woman whose DS did the program last year I believe and she was doing it this FA.

My husband just completed his WBI, hoping for a phone interview. He just turned 33. Good luck!! We'll be moving if he gets this. Crazy and exciting!

That's awesome!! I have my fingers crossed for him! I'm going to have to wait until next fall's program. If you feel like letting me know, keep me posted on the process. Very excited for you guys!

I am 28 years old and I am seriously thinking about doing the college program. It makes me happy to see that there are other older people interested in it as well! I actually just went to the site to try and apply and they stopped taking applications 2 days ago! :worried: So, I guess I will try applying next year to start in the Fall, and I will be 29 years old. That sounds so old to me but I was kind of a late bloomer in life and started college later on. I feel like I am 22!

I can relate to you so much! I too have always been a late bloomer, though some health setbacks in my early twenties where I had to put my academic and career progress on hold didn't exactly help my cause. I'm turning 25 soon but I honestly feel like I'm about 20. I must look young too since I've often been mistaken for late teens/early twenties by people who don't know my age, lol! I've always wanted to do this, and now that I'm in good health I feel like I owe it to myself to really try, regardless of age. Really bummed to hear you missed the cut off date by such a small amount, but don't give up! Definitely apply for Fall 2016. That's what I will be doing if I don't get in for Spring. And don't let getting turned down once or twice deter you either. If you really want to do it keep trying, tons of people have to try more than once to get accepted (this is my second attempt).

Please do not let age stop you. I'm 34 years old and about to start my second program in Jan, whoooo!!!! After all, Disney appeals to all ages!
And who exactly made the rules about you have to do the program by a certain age, be married by a certain age, have kids, finish school all by a certain age....?
Lies, all of it. I refuse to buy into the age myth and am gonna live my life to the fullest until my body won't let me anymore.
That being said: APPLY!!! It is NEVER too late to live your dreams. If it were, we might as well have quit during our 20's.

Too bad you missed it for the Spring, but let me know if you apply for the Fall. That is what I am planning to do this year! (I still feel like I'm in my early 20s too. I wonder when that will go away.) :)

Cool that someone my age is starting a second program. Where did you work during the first program? I'm going to be applying for Fall 2016.
