MS called today about my upcoming stay at VWL....anyone else?

ok! so we wait... thing is that I wouldnt have booked right at the 11 month mark there had I known this project was planned, no one wants to be running around bothering the DVC member once they book and pay.
I completely understand ! But under the circumstances I'm assuming the owners know what's coming! I would just make it easy for the member and have a short list that you wish to move to at the 7month mark. If you have two places that are the same point total that you would be equally happy with you should be fine! I plan on trying for
1) beach club
2) Boardwalk garden view
3) akl savannah view

I am confident one will be available!

Good luck!!

sighhh yeah we have a list, but we wanted to be in the MK area and the other options are way more points. the AKV option is less points and how do you ask for a refund in the difference, thats not nice :( and Beach Club which is more points is also in limbo with their refurb, Just disappointed in myself for planning this far ahead and ending up with crappy luck. Good Luck to all that booked at WLV in this situation :)

Like I said before, I had called with follow up questions yesterday after the initial call on Saturday. I think that may have sped up the process for me. Anyway, if I go into mydisneyexperience and then go into "my reservations and tickets" after I scroll past my park ticket and dining reservations, I get to the FP section. (I was given 2 extra FPs for 3 days out of our week long trip. I was able to choose, over the phone, which days and which parks. The parks did NOT have to be the same as my regular FP park for the day.) So under the FP section it lists the date, park I chose, and then says "select experiences at MK", or whichever park. I was told we can just walk onto the FP line at any ride at any time during the day for these special FPs. No reservations. Exceptions were parade viewings and maybe something else I can't recall. Then, when my FP window opens, I will be able to make the usual 3 FP reservations per day at the same or different parks. This will be great for hard to get things like Anna and Elsa and Toy Story Mania. Then under that, Memory Maker shows up with a confirmation code. I am not sure if this helped or made things more confusing.

Thanks for the info. So, you have to choose your park for the extra unassigned passes.... interesting. Well, no wonder mine aren't showing in MDE yet since I haven't done that step. I guess I'll have to have the owner call.

Very interesting Jessi_CH, I hope it all goes smoothly. Who knew that Disney could add extra FP+ that way to your MDE account?

We are stayed at WLV in a 1 br Nov 6-9 for F&W 1/2 marathon weekend, I haven't gotten called, and I really wouldn't want to move anyway (it was booked at 11 months out). However, I am intrigued about the FP and memory maker, are they offering this to all members staying during renovation? I am just wondering if I should call DVC and ask.

I would call if I were you. No reason to move if you don't want to, but I think they are trying to offer those people something for any inconveniences due to the noise, view, and/or loss of amenities.

Update on the MM! I called and spoke to a very nice CM who told me that the guest experience team is still very new and they are still working out the kinks. She said that MM and FP should be added to our accounts within 7 days and if they are not we should contact them again and they will help us out. So if anyone is still waiting once you hit your 7th day you should call!

Well, everything is showing up correctly with our unrestricted FPs in MDE now. I just hope it all goes smoothly when we get there. My owner did tell last weekend when he spoke with them that your unrestricted ones will automatically get used first, so you kind of have to think about how you schedule your regular ones.

If I need to call and ask about my FPs, what number should I call? (guest experiences, member services...) I still don't see mine coming up

Uggggg called again and now I was told the mm could take a month to go through to my account! What the heck? Why does it take so long?

I called and asked tech support about the unrestricted FPs. The person, who seemed the most knowledgeable of the 3 times I called in a row to ask the same question, said how it should work is that they're prioritized. If you go to an attraction during a window where you have a regular FP booked then the regular FP should be used. If you go outside the window, or a second time during the window, then the unrestricted FP shoud be used. He did log into my account so he could see the FPs.

Of course, should be doesn't always translate to will be for Disney software.

Originally I accepted their offer of a $200 spa credit (which was after stating that I already bought a memory maker) and two fast passes for 3 of our 7 days. I read a separate post mentioning 3 fast passes for every day so I called them back and the suggestion was my fast passes were different because I also had the spa credit. I said the spa is closed anyway (we are there Nov 30-Dec 6) and while the other spas are available it is less convenient and to revoke that credit. She confirmed she can and changed it to 3 fast passes (different in that I don't need to specify which parks in advance like when I had 2) and they are good for 7 days instead of 3. As we have a large party of 7 it is a difference of 42 fast passes vs 147. If we were in a studio with 3 it isn't as big a difference.

I find it crazy that different people are offered different compensation. We will have a baby who will need naps. We want to be in MK area. There is nothing available so they refunded 15% of our points and told us to request extra fast passes by going to resort management desk and they will give them to us for the inconvience.

Talking to the guest experience team, we were offered a move to BCV, SSR, or Kidani. I explained that we wanted to stay in the MK area and was told that nothing is available.

Nothing else was offered and I was told to call back if we wanted to move.

I just don't understand disney. I can understand they run out of space to move people, but there should be some kind of standard response----A - party gets moved to MK resort and something else......then goes to step two....party gets moved to Epcot resort and 2 x something, step 3 party gets moved AKL. SSR or OKW and get 3 x times.....

The usual comment of going to the front desk to complain.....we have a sofa at BLT that looked like a cat scratching contest occurred.....I made several trips and ended up with nothing. Nothing ever fixed, not even a FP.

At BCV, we were trying to get a remote for the DVD player (one that did more than stop and start movie), after three trips to front desk and without asking for anything, front desk gave us a $50 credit.

Not just with this situation, but in other matters, compensation is all over the place. bed fell apart-----one person get a complete free stay , the other person gets nothing.

I feel bad for those having their trips changed like this.

I specifically asked if I stayed at the lodge, to be in the MK area, if there was anything they could offer for the closures. I don't think they would have offered unless I asked. This is not something I would normally do, but since I knew of some these items, I took a chance.

I received a mesg from ms today to call them about my upcoming trip to VWL in novemeber. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it worth calling back? If it's just to tell me about the impending construction at the lodge theres no point since i probably already know what they are going to tell me. would they call for any other reason?

TIA!
Yes - last week for my OKW stay - just to say, HI

I got the letter in the mail late last week when we were out of town. I called Member Services (the number on the letter) and after waiting for 20 minutes basically got told sorry there is nothing they can do. We are going Thanksgiving week so there is no availability for us to switch. I explained we were planning on doing 3 park days and 2 resort days (our new standard since becoming DVC) and I have kids that love to sleep in those days and it is just not an issue for them. Really disappointed they didn't offer Fastpasses or anything else for the inconvenience. They did offer to reactivate my other waitlist that was cancelled when we got the VWL reservation - 6 nights in a standard studio at GF Thanksgiving week - like that has a snowball's chance in you know where of ever coming through. Is everyone else calling Member Services or is there some other number you are calling?

Did you ask to speak with a MS Supervisor? If not, call back and request a Supervisor as they have to connect you with the duty Supervisor if requested. Explain your situation that nothing is available for that week and it's the second highest point requirment season of the year. Ask what you're options are for staying put and state your concerns and if nothing is offered, advise of the many resolutions you are aware of from all of the data points provided on the forums. If there is something reasonable that will make you happy then let them know that. From everything I've seen they will do their best to achieve your satisfaction in a way that is fair to both you and them. We are staying Thanksgiving week with two reservations and are staying put at the lodge as we weren't interested in moving. I spoke with them regarding these reservations and two February 2016 reservations as well.
