Waiting for Rest of Fall 2015 Room Only Discount

Out of nowhere a room opened up at GF today for my dates 10/17-10/24. The rooms available anywhere for those dates were sparse so I was shocked when it appeared. So if you're looking for a certain resort and it's not available at this moment don't give up hope! I've been checking for the past week and this is the first I saw a GF room at all! Good luck!

Checked today and found my 1 night POFQ room only included in the fall savings, so changed it over and got $33 credited to my hotel account. Does that just mean onto my magic band?
Silly but glad I saved $33 that's a counter service meal for me and the DH!

Not sure this is what you're after but I just saw POR preferred for 175/night for your dates on Orbitz. If it is might want to grab it fast.

Use the promo code "yesplease" for an additional $150 off too, and link to the Orbitz page from ebates for even more cash back.

Cheaptickets has those dates available as well in a preferred view room with the same price. See my earlier post for how to get an additional 20% off (with no cap!)

Thanks to both of you! I really want to pay for my room only with a significant amount of Disney reward dollars that I have. I was a bit uneasy about booking with Orbitz. I was able to book preferred room with discount through Disney this morning.

I'm glad the room you wanted became available!:cool1:

So for all of you Disney Veterans, a newbie needs your help. Can you explain to me how a split stay/reservation will work if you are purchasing the dining plan, tickets and memory maker as well as a resort stay? Thanks so much for your help!

Purchase a package with dining, memory maker and tickets with the first part of your stay, but make sure your park tickets have enough days for the entire length of the split stay. For the second part book a room with dining package (the dining plan for the first part doesn't carry into the second part). There have been mixed reports of people being able to book FP+ for the entire split stay on their 60+ opening window, but it seems that if all is linked in MDE most people can.

Thanks so much for the info. I am assuming that you have done this before. :) So if I am understanding your correctly then I will purchase ALL of my tickets, dining plan and room for only the length of the first reservation, and memory maker for ALL of our stay? Then on the second portion of our stay I will only purchase room and the rest of the days dining plan? Is that correct? Do I need to explain it a certain way to the CM or will they know what I am doing?

Just to make sure I'm reading your post right, buy your tickets for the entire split stay with the first hotel. I've never done a split but read a lot about them (there's actually a thread dedicated to this) because I was originally considering one, but then found a great deal on the room I really wanted. I would think a CM should be able to figure it out.

Memory maker continues for 30 days once activated, So once activated it will continue through your stays.

Was not online much last week and missed when the fall room only discount was posted so I was pretty bummed. We planned to go the last weekend in Oct but just looked and I was able to book the Yacht Club at the discounted room rate for the middle of Oct....super excited for Food and Wine now :)

Anyone having any luck getting the fall room only discount for POR? I'm going mid October and keep calling with zero luck... Frustrating!

I'm looking for a Florida resident room only rate for early November 2015.

Anything yet?

Have you tried checking Orbitz? Their availability is very often different, than going directly through Disney. You can also apply a promo code, currently "yesplease," for an additional 15% discount, up to a maximum of $150.00 off of the total.

Keep trying back, NittanyKK - I called the day after the discounts came out and there was nothing for POR except royal rooms that would cost more than my garden view regular room, and the agent on the phone with me told me to try back in a week or two after the "hysteria" dies down... and there may be availability for my room type. I watched the website for my dates and on Sunday, my POR garden view room became available. I called and got about $110 off the package price. I wish it would have been a 25% discount instead of 15%, but something is better than nothing! That's $110 I can use to taste my way around the Food & Wine Festival! :-)

I haven't but I actually booked through Disney on February and have been paying on it for awhile so I don't really want to go through the hassle of changing it... But thank you for the suggestion!

And thank you, that's good to know. I will definitely keep trying! Last night I looked on the website and they had the discount for part of my time there. I thought a few nights would be better than nothing so I called but... Apparently it only applied if I stayed several days later than my current plan so it was very specific. So frustrating! But I'm not giving up. I would be happy for the discount you got... And I'm so excited to check out Food & Wine Festival!!

Does anyone know if POR preferred rooms were originally included in the discount? Trying to decide if I should just go ahead and boom with orbitz so I at least get $150 off or if I should hold out for a change to Disney travel discount.

I've seen POR preferred (last Fri actually). You could book now and cancel if you see a discounted one pop up (at least on Orbitz, don't know everyone else's cancellation policies). Also keep an eye on Orbitz codes if u book there, you might see one with a higher cap come out than $150.

I really wanted a preferred room. I checked every day (often twice a day) since the day the discounts came out and finally got one for my dates [11/12-11/19] on Monday. It was always available at rack rate.

Was searching my dates and thought I got POFQ (for 12/5-12/10) but it turned out I searched (12/5-12/14) by mistake! Why is the discount available for longer dates but not my shorter dates?! That makes no sense to me!!:headache::headache::headache::headache::headache::headache::headache::headache::headache: Someone enlighten me please. This is getting frustrating.
RELEASE THE AP DISCOUNT ALREADY:furious::furious::furious::furious::furious::furious::furious::furious::furious::furious::furious:
