I am in a DVC studio for one night. The cover (door) on the freezer in the fridge keeps falling off. I would like to report it when I leave tomorrow. It won't impact my trip, but might be a problem for the next guest. DO i press Housekeeping/Engineering on the phone, or call someone else?

Thanks! I should be leaving pretty early tomorrow, so they might have time to fix it or swap it out before the next guest checks in.

I had a problem with my fridge a couple of weeks ago in my studio at OKW. I went to the front desk and it was fixed within the hour.

Safest bet is to walk to the front desk and physically speak to someone, or call Engineering. Call the front desk as a last resort since that call won't go to the front desk.

That's very considerate of you to think about the next guest. Very thoughtful.

I ended up pressing the Housekeeping/Engineering button on the phone last night. When I arrived yesterday the carpet near thr door was damp. I assumed it had been cleaned. Shortly after I posted here, I opened the fridge and there was water on the shelves. The fridge had started to defrost itself. They came and swapped it out.

In hindsight, that's probably why the carpet was damp.

But when i arrived, after having been up since 2:00 am and still a little dopey from the dramamine I took for the trip, I wasn't exactly at my sharpest.

Every time we've had a room problem we get transferred to maintenance. Now they are not the speediest of departments. Don't count on that getting fixed before you leave.

We usually have them show up within an hour, although usually doesn't take that long, for any call. That's been SSR, VWL and BWV. BLT I'm not certain because we went out but the batteries we needed for the TV remote were there when we came back approx 4 hours later. I do call when we find things whether it will affect us or not and whether small or large. SSR was an outlet that did not work because the wires had come loose. BWV was a drippy faucet on the whirlpool which they changed out so not a small job and it was completed within a couple hours of the call. Also had an oven there that did not unlock after the cleaning cycle housekeeping had initiated before we checked in. Oh, and had a lock set where the batteries died. That I asked they wait until the next day to fix which they did. VWL was requiring a handheld shower head for the shower and also a dead remote that new batteries did not fix either. So some larger problems and some small.

That has been our experience as well. We push the button on the phone for maintenance (not the front desk) and have always had someone arrive to fix the problem very promptly.

Guy came within 15 minutes and swapped out the fridge.

This morning I switched to a non-Disney hotel near the convention center. Got in the room, opened the mini fridge, and... Same thing. Water. Called housekeeping, guy said somebody turned it too low and it started to defrost. He chipped away at the ice, said it would be fine. Went out to lunch, came back, opened the fridge... More water. Just put in another call. i will give Disney credit for handling it better.
