here now, Epcot has second internal RD again

Ha... we don't ride primeval whirl (hurl). It doesn't much matter when u get on ks right? I thought I read you will see animals even if u go later. I guess it doesn't matter because I'm def. Going to be casual with my ak entrance and fp ks.

It's a choice to enter through IG. If you choose to do that, you know it will take longer to get to the attractions that are open. Your choice. Don't like it, then you go around and enter at the main gate with everyone else. Simple.

And how exactly do you propose a Beach Club guest get to the main gate?

What kills me is the constant changes. They have us start making ADRs at 180 days, FPs at 60 days. We do all that based on the procedures at that time. Then they change the rules! Different park hours, different RD procedures, etc. It just gets frustrating!!! Our trip isn't for another month and who knows how much will change by then! I'm leaving my plans for all parks as they are for now, expecting things may change again, and will re-examine closer to our visit. By then, of course, my plan will be impossible to change anyway!

I do not remember busses to Epcot from Epcot resorts. Did I miss something?

I typically see animals up and about very early in the morning, right at park open.

There was one time (at least 5 or 6 years ago) where I was with a fairly large party at Epcot when they had the internal RD. We were there early and got to the internal RD very early. When the CM's started assembling, my party got in front, side by side, with interlocked arms. This prevented people from trying to scoot by us as there were no cracks. I noticed this prevented a lot of chaos, at least at the front of the mob.
You must have had a large party. o_O

I get why some people may not like this but as someone who enters through the International Gateway, this is the fair way to do it. Otherwise, people who enter through future world have an unfair advantage in being able to reach Soarin/TT quicker than the Epcot Resort area guests, and that really doesn't make a lot of sense.

Just as an aside, it was a significant disadvantage entering through the IG at RD in terms of getting to TT. Since we had already tried entering through the front/first in line/belly up to the rope/hurrying to TT, we tried it through the IG hoping we at least would avoid the stampede. We did, it was a lot more pleasant, but it was a lot farther (farther than we thought) and we were significantly behind the front entrance crowd. Much farther behind in line than entering through the front. If we were at the back of the pack coming in through the front, then it would probably be different.

Well, if anyone has a car, they can certainly drive to the front gate if it's so critical that the people there don't get a 5 minute advantage on you! Someone earlier mentioned Uber. Yes, there are taxis.

My point is if you DECIDE to stay at an Epcot resort, DECIDE to go through IG, and DECIDE to be there at rope drop, that's your choice. You can't expect them to change procedures just because you think it's unfair that other people have a jump on you. Really?

You know what? I have to take a bus from POFQ to Magic Kingdom and that takes too long. Those people who stay at the Contemporary and can walk? That's not fair. They need to wait for me to catch up! It's not fair I need to leave earlier than they do. It's not fair they can just stroll to the front gate and go in. I don't want ANYBODY in before I'm there and ready!

Or I drive to MK but I have to park and take a ferry or monorail to the park. NOT FAIR! I want to be able to drive right up where the buses are and get out there! Not fair that they only have to walk from the bus stop and I have to take two different modes of transportation.

That's it. No one can enter any park until everyone who wanted to be at rope drop is there and ready! Then we all give one big collective 1-2-3-GO and we all get to start at the same time!

We all know exactly what's involved in where we're staying. It's choices you make.

Unless you were forced to stay at those resorts, there is nothing unfair about it.

I have to laugh at how silly the whole RD stampede thing is, people running and shoving just to be there first or avoid a tiny wait for a ride. Perhaps it's just that I go so frequently but I just don't get it. In fact, (and while I'd never suggest this for a first-timer or someone who only visits WDW on a limited basis), I've just kinda given up on RD. Instead, I sleep in and have a nice breakfast at the hotel, roll into the parks between 11 and noon (maybe a little after) and just stay 'till park close or as close to it as I can make it. I might have to do a bit more waiting, but with FP+ and single-rider, it works just fine for me. Again, if I don't get to go on a certain ride, it's not a big deal though. I much prefer missing 7DMT versus the whole RD stampede thing.

I like the trickle in and disperse method, I feel like it would be more fair for the IG people THAT way....maybe yeah, let them trickle 5 min earlier, but its better for everybody if everybody is bottlenecked en masse before a speed walk race....

This isn't even remotely a good comparison and you know it. Yes you need to leave earlier but you're able to do so via Disney transportation if you wish. Everyone is able to arrive at the entrance by the opening and then everyone has a fair chance to get to the rides. This isn't occurring with Epcot. Even if I get the IG line at 5am and wait 4 hours for park open, I will still be at a disadvantage. And you're solution is that I spend more money on a taxi to get to the main entrance which is nonsense. If Disney were to offer bus transport from my hotel to the Epcot main entrance, then I would absolutely jump on that. But they don't offer it which again is like a knife to the back of the Epcot resort guests.

Epcot resort guests, if anything, should have an advantage getting into the Epcot parks, not a disadvantage. Explain to me how you think it's right that people not staying in the Epcot vicinity get to the Tier 1 attractions before the Epcot guests?

Ugh... I cannot stand the pushy shovey people racing to get on a ride first. ...I don't want to be part of that. Thank you for mentioning it. It won't effect me for epcot...but it will for ak. We had planned to be there for rd to get on ks. I fp ed dinosaur, kali and ee. But now I'm thinking I will replace my Dino one with ks. Just to avoid that nonsense. We can race to dinosaur ..lol . I was considering it anyway since my dh mentioned he might be slower that morning since he would have driven all day before. AK is our first park day. This just helped me make my decision.

They don't do this at dhs right?

In my recent experience, DHS is not currently doing an internal rope drop.

The AK internal rope drop isn't preferable to not having one, however, I don't think you need to worry about getting to the safaris. Once they do release guests into the park, the crowding thins out rapidly. We went from rope drop to KS first thing and had no issue getting there or riding.

It's fair because you know about this going in and no one is forcing you to stay there! And if it's really that critical to you that you HAVE to be there for that extra 5-10 minutes, then yes, you'd spend the extra money for a taxi or Uber to do so. Choices....

Alright, 1st off to set the record straight, i'm not taking sides. I see what everyone has to say and it all somehow makes sense.

Driving a car from the Epcot resorts really doesn't make sense....That would be almost like riding the monorail from CR,Poly,GF to TTC and then taking the boat to MK. It's a perk that you get when you pay $$$$ for that particular hotel. It's a huge plus being close to Ep. & HS, but it doesn't come cheap. Nor does that for the monorail resorts either.

The comparison between POFQ & CR, is unfortunately like comparing apples & oranges...2 totally different price ranges/ categories. So to say it's not fair, really isn't fair to say.:confused3 Higher prices comes w/ better perks.

Also anyone that drives to MK, knows that they're in the same boat as everyone else. Once again comparing that to CR is a bad example IMHO.. I choose to stay at AKV, so that means I should get a personal limo from Kidani to the front gate ...No? Even if we had a car with us, it's so much more relaxing to have WDW do the work...I'm on vacation, I'd rather not be bothered about finding a spot, then hitting the tram cars. I realize that if I want to be at RD ( when staying at AKV) then I need to leave 20 mins. b4 anyone else.

Like you said in your last statement, We all know exactly what's involved in where we're staying. It's choices you make. But that contradicts everything that you said prior to that.

Remember this is WDW, (the Happiest place on EARTH) there's no reason for anyone to get upset/angry...Somethings favor some & some favor others. All in all it should all work out in the end. And if it doesn't:confused3 who cares, because your in DISNEYWORLD!!! That's all that matters.

Sorry for rambling..DizDad
