The Sheraton Vistana Resort Thread (key links on p.1)

I'll begin by admitting I haven't read all 47 pages but would love advice. This would be our first stay. Just DH and I this trip. I've read some building do not have elevators. Can you request and get a building with an elevator? I think we would just book a one bedroom so are there any locations that are more quiet than others?

The only two sections with elevators are Cascades and Lakes. You can always submit a Diamond Lane request about two weeks before your scheduled arrival to request to be assigned to a building with elevator access, but I don't think they will "guarantee" it (that said, I'm betting they will do their level best to accommodate you if at all possible).

Actually, you are in luck on this one. IF you book a 1BR, they are only found in the buildings with elevators (Lakes and Cascades) so no need to request. However, these are also the larger buildings in the resort, and are in the busier areas just because of the density of the people and the larger pool areas attached. The quietest areas are those with the two storey villa buildings with 2BR units (and no elevators).

Update.... Last night, my brother was able to book a concurrent week through my MIL's account. Since we were booked in Fountains, they did the same increasing the likelihood that we will be close to one another. So now, my bro and SIL and niece (3) nephew 2 and soon to be niece/nephew ( who will be 3 months at time of travel) will be joining us at SVR. The more the merrier!
Good for you!

Don't forget to submit a Diamond Lane request a couple of weeks before arriving with the details for the two reservations. The resort will try to place you closer together if that's what you desire (sometimes it's nice to have the family in the resort but not "too" close...)

Any certain buildings just for the 2 BR?

Two bedroom villas are located throughout the resort, in every section :thumbsup2 . In fact, 7 of the 9 distinct villages (Falls, Springs, Palms, Spas, Courts, Fountains I, and Fountains II) only offer two-bedroom units. The remaining two sections, Cascades and Lakes, are the villages that offer both one and two bedroom villas (and with the one bedroom units, there are two different configurations.....a standard one-bedroom with no balcony and the larger premium one bedroom that does have a balcony).

Thanks. We have 4 months left to go but I am so flipping excited. I am looking through this thread and reading all the pages from the beginning and looking at all the photos. We cannot wait

When will you be there? We'll arrive on November 7th. Everyone thinks my countdown app on my phone is ridiculous, but some days it is the only thing that gets me through.:earboy2:

Does anyone know what the menu's are like at the various pubs in the resort? I need to try and keep eating healthy, because I've lost 20 pounds so far this summer, and I want to keep headed in that direction. I know we could cook in the resort, and plan on doing that as well. Sometimes when you get back from the parks, you just don't fee like it. Plus, it is vacation! :yay:

We get there December 5. THis is the only time I've ever wanted to summer to be over and wish December would hurry and arrive

Yes! Me too! We have a weekend trip to the beach in about a month, and then bring on Disney!!

I'm not sure what healthy offerings are available at the resort bars.....I know the Tacky Tiki Bar has pizza, wings, burgers, etc.

The Marketplace has deli sandwiches and whatnot.

Very close by to the resort is a Sweet Tomatoes, which offers a great healthy buffet (fresh salads, soups, chili, pastas, etc.)....it might be a good option too.

Congrats on the weight loss.......that's an awesome achievement!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks Gina! And yes, we'll be making several stops at Sweet Tomatoes. We love it there...glad there is one close to the resort!

Thank you bankr63, Gina-Gina-Bo-Bina and everyone else for your helpful info. Sent my Diamond Lane reservation requests and now all I have left to do is pack. :crazy2: I hope to take lots of pictures to share. Leaving Sunday morning!
So excited haven't been to the area for almost four years.

Have a wonderful time!! Can't wait to see your pics and hear about your stay! (we're back in just over 10 weeks......can't wait!)

What Diamond Lane requests did you send in? Fingers crossed that they're able to meet them all!

I requested ground level near the pool. I used an RCI trade in the Fountains area. My mom has a hard time with stairs so that is why I asked for the ground floor. We land early so even though we will not get into our room until later I figured we can check in and know what room we will get and maybe be able to change if able to.

what's the earliest time in the day you've been able to check in? At our timeshare in Vegas they are SO picky, they will not allow anyone to check in before 4pm.

If your assigned unit is ready, I'm pretty sure any time on check in day is acceptable. We have been in shortly before noon without issue. If your unit is not ready, you are still welcome to use the facilities until the unit is ready. There are nice change areas at the bigger pools, so make sure you have your swim suit along and grab some sun while you wait for housekeeping to get everything ready for you.

Question: Does anyone have an activity schedule from this summer? Specifically I was wondering if they still have karaoke at the Spas super pool, or if it is only at the Fountains pool now?
Thanks!

Does anyone know if Cascades buildings have skylights and which building I should look at for Friday check-in? any Cascades bldgs to avoid?

Can someone tell me how to contact Diamond Lane for my requests? Thanks
