Probably already discussed but I can't find it. Art of animation pavilion shutting down as well?!?!?! Is it me or is disney taking away all the CM interactive aspects of the WDW. It certainly is not the same family friendly park it was back when we joined DVC in 2004. What is going on. Do you have any idea how many drawings we have done as a family. It is an area where my kids can't wait to get to. My boys are 18-15 and some of their fondest memories are drawing a character and answering trivia with cm. Walt would be having a fit if he was around.

My wife was super pissed about this as well. One of the few things she genuinely likes in DHS. Personally, I think it's a nice little filler attraction, but not something that gets me upset by its removal. The key I think is that the park is so weak in other attractions that people get upset by a "learn to draw" attraction leaving - which is essentially something that you could watch on youtube. If they fix this park properly, few will miss a drawing class.

It sounds pretty good, but the name of the restaurant is horrible. Why couldn't they have gone with a better name like "Flo Fish". I guess the chef wants his name to be more well known. I wonder if he'll put his face on the sign like a cheap used car lot.

Lol, why not? Chef Gusteau did!

Ugh!!! I feel like they just raised prices. I do love Starbucks but am trying to make more coffee at home because of the cost!

They expanded their employee benefits greatly, now offering college tuition (on-line), stocks, and good benefits. Personally, I'll pay an additional few cents to help out that kid making my coffee. But, I'm sure not everyone shares my opinion.

I agree and actually make the same arguments when I defend Starbucks - employee benefits (even for part-timers) and they recently opened a factory in GA to help bring manufacturing jobs back to the U.S. - at least a few anyway!

But, with that said, I still need to cut back on my quad venti mochas because they are expensive, and even more so soon! My at-home option is still Starbucks, just a cheaper version!

It looks like the cut from the massive budget for MK and Epcot will be 300-350 million for each. So estimations, 3.4-3.5 billion total, 300-350 for each MK and Epcot, then the rest for DHS.

According to Martin on wdwmagic the number for DHS is 2.8 billion including infrastructure

That would imply that there's at least a new ride coming to both MK and Epcot, or an already existing ride is being completely re-done. Add refurbishments for the 50th to that. 300 MM is waaaay too much money for simple refurbishments and new entertainment. 2.8 for DHS is reasonable if they really are pretty much re-building the whole thing, and even then, entire theme parks have been built with less.

It sounds too good to be true, but since many reputable sources (at least within the fanbase) are spreading the info, I'm being optimistic.

Han Solo Anthology film announced, to be directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord (The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street). Writing is being done by Lawrence Kasdan (Raiders, Empire, Jedi, Force Awakens....etc) so it'll be a solid script. This is apparently not the film that was attached to director Josh Trank before his exit, rumored to be the Boba Fett film. This will follow a young Han Solo on his early journey to becoming the smuggler and scoundrel we all know and love.

Release date is slated for May 25, 2018

A lot of people are saying that a pavilion or two could get a makeover at Epcot. Also no one is sure about what the money is for at MK.

Maybe extensive refurbs at MK, like maybe for Space Mountain, etc. An additional restaurant or two might be nice. It almost seems like they would have to replace an attraction for that kind of money. I hope it's the Speedway and not my beloved Tiki Room, Peoplemover, Carousel of Progress, Winnie the Pooh, or Tea Cups.

According to Orlando Theme Park News,
"Characters from "The Princess and the Frog" movie are now meeting Magic Kingdom Park Guests at Heritage House in Liberty Square until further notice.
The Heritage House location is a former store (which later became a MyMagic+ service center and, subsequently, an indoor seating area) located next to the Hall of Presidents. It is unclear whether the characters will return to their outdoor meet-and-greet area in the future."

Every time I walk by the Speedway I think that's a ton of space that could be used for something else.
