Poly DVC rooms sale

It's ABSOLUTELY a sign that the Poly is currently in trouble. If you ran WDW - would you do a deep discount on a POPULAR destination, just because you were a nice person? :). Wait for escalation .... next will be GP, FOLLOWED by AP deep discounts. But JUST for the Poly.
I disagree! I think it's an amazing sales tactic. They are essentially charging people to take a DVC tour. The very people, the Poly vacationers, they are targeting for sales. It's a brilliant sales move!

Because of the high rack rates, it's going to be difficult to fill undeclared rooms without a discount.

No sure if this has been discussed but I noticed there is a sale going on for the Poly DVC rooms- 35% off for standard view studios and bungalows if you are a Disney Visa holder.

Is this a sign that booking is down for Poly?

When is this for? The DW website has the same until oct 3rd. My SILs family is going down there oct 9-14 and may need a room (dvc, ap) but the discount isn't available then....

Hmmm interesting. I know there are threads etc that people report monthly DVC sales/closings and how it is trending, have not looked at it recently. I had thought discount was due to a couple of factors, 3rd DVC building being completed so more total inventory available, continued construction which seems to be causing some to wait till next year to book at Poly.

Poly deeds showing up on the county web site in June are the highest number of PVB points that have shown up for a month.

Disney still owns the majority of the reservation time for the Poly DVC rooms and can rent them out. That a discount is offered to cash guests has no real relevancy to how DVC sales or reservations are doing. The 35% Disney Visa discount at Poly runs from now until Oct 3. Disney is also offering a 30% room discount, which does not require a Visa, from Aug 15 to Oct 2 at a number of the resorts including the deluxe resorts but excluding the Poly villas. Aug 28-Oct 2 is also one of the periods where it is offering free dining for stays at a lot of the Disney resorts but you need to pay regular room price. In other words, it appears the only thing going on is typical discounts for times of year when discounts often occur and the Poly discount offers the extra advantage to Disney of being a promotiional tool that can be used to find new Poly DVC purchasers. Those who hold Disney Visa cards are typically either those who are already DVC owners or those who are not owners but are clearly the target audience for DVC ownership because they likely go to a Disney theme park repeated times.

One of those was me! I found mine! June 22nd! So basically the ones showing up on there for June must be people who purchased back in April or so then.

... As sales progress, DVD will make further declarations for the DVC inventory until 100% of the resort has been declared...
DVD must maintain a 2% ownership in all resorts, therefor they can only sale 98% of each resort.

True, DVD must retain at least 2% of each DVD resort's total points. But it still declares 100% of a resort for the DVC inventory.

I am curious to see if DVD will have an "add-on" offer to the Poly at some point if the sales don't pick up (ie. Aulani). I doubt it, as it will probably "sell out" eventually, but at a much slower rate than expected.

Do how much is the cost of a POLY villa studio room with the Visa discount?
Poly DVC rooms- 35% off for standard view studios?

If the room costs $400 a night then it would be $260 ?
What is the normal cost of the POLY villa studio room?
I just booked this Poly deal for 1 night. We are staying at BLT in a 2 BR (9 of us) for a week, but just found out that the Members' Beach Party at Typhoon Lagoon is on our check-out day. So we want to stay for one more night. My sister's family is moving to her hotel for the Juvenile Arthritis conference, so that leaves 5 of us. There's nothing available at BLT, or really, anywhere except 2BRs at OKW or SSR, at 40 and 48 points, respectively. When I saw this deal, I was interested, because I'd like to try the Poly studios for the 5 of us, but only for 1 night to start. Rack rate for our night was 460, so this brought it down to just under 300. I'd rather pay that than 40 points.

Congratulations and :welcome Home!

wdrl (Wil from DVCNews.com) has followed contracts for all but VGC. I have only followed BLT (stopped when it became "sold out") and now I'm following PVB.
We have both seen contracts show up many, many months after they were signed. I think the longest delay I saw with BLT was around 8 months. Wil may have seen longer or may correct me if I'm off.

I used to think it was people delaying sending the contract back via Fed Ex. Now, I know some of them are, but there is also a large number that are signed onsite so DVD holds contracts back from the county for some reason. My theory is that it has to do with people purchasing in multiple installments. Example, charge X to the credit card every month until it's paid in full. I believe DVD could not submit those to the county until all the installments are made and it's paid in full. Many do this to get the cashback from their credit card company, paying it off completely each month.

Wil and I have the same total points on the country website (June) for PVB, but we differ on the total contracts by one.

Here's a break down of what I show for those PVB contracts on the county web site in June. Dates are based on the "executed on" part of the contract. There are one or two that were impossible to read, so I based the executed on date on the contracts before/after them.
