Hello Universal lovers :)

We are a family of seven, 2 adults & 5 children ages 6-14, and we will be at Universal following our WDW stay this August. I will preface my post by admitting I am a hopeless resort changer. I had the amazing villa Portofino suite booked initially and changed to HRH King suite with connecting 2Q CL room(with the AP rate). I see that I can get PBH CL (2 connecting rooms) with the AP rate for our dates. It isn't a big price difference so that really isn't a factor (PBH is like $300 cheaper). WWYD?

  • We have stayed at all 3 resorts (only RPR CL previously) and we love them all, the kids favorite is HRH and mine is PBH
  • HRH and PBH are our favorite pools
  • We love the walk from HRH but we don't mind the boats at all :)
  • We aren't fans of a super crowded CL, but I guess we can take stuff back to our room at HRH
  • I will add my youngest has ASD, but he did like the music at HRH
I am curious to what most DISers would choose. I am excited about having a suite, but the reality is we would be at the pool or CL lounge for most of the time so that is really my thoughts. TIA :)

PBH..I love the size of the lounge and like that there is plenty of room.I love everything about the resort

I was looking at the size of the lounge, and it doesn't look like it would get as crowded as the HRH CL :) Thank you for replying!

I will say that the HH CL can get very crowded and very loud. we took food and drinks back to room as there was no place to on several occasions last time. We also stayed RPR CL and thought that was better food, room and space.

That is my biggest concern regarding HRH I think, especially being such a big family. Thanks for posting :)

Hi, Having stayed at all 3 resorts CL, if early August is your trip, the HRH would be a problem trying to sit 7 people together. IMHO. Much better chance at the PBH! Have a great trip!

I called to switch, and initially I was going to switch to PBH Bay View (no CL), but I did ultimately choose two CL rooms. I'm thrilled since I love Portofino. And the kids can get their HRH pool fix if they want :) Thank you so much for your input!! The lounge does look much bigger than HRH (and comfier). They have a terrace also right? In the lounge that is..

I wasn't impressed by the lounge at HRH. Kind of no frills and not a lot of seating. But the people working there were wonderful!!

The one thing I am sad about, is the suite we booked looked amazing. However, not being able to find a seat gets old fast :)

I really don't recall a terrace off the lounge, one that you can use that is.

Yes they do (at PBH).If you go out the club exit door ( not the same as the entrance), there is a door to the terrace. There is a small table and chairs. We sit out there a lot in the mornings

Thank you for the info :) I didn't even realize there is a different exit door. I have passed the entrance and noticed the location of the lounge during our previous stays. As long as we get connecting rooms they can put us in the East wing ;)

Wow never seen that, Thanks for the info. Is this actually part of the lounge or is this common area? Anyway sounds nice to use
