New DVC Vera Bradley/D&B Bags

Although it is good to hear that the codes stack, it still doesn't make up for the jacked up prices. $40 more for the backpack for an embroidery logo? The D&B shopper bag is $40 more than the same kind of leather and style than other Disney Dooney's. No reason for those mark ups at all. If they were priced normally, I would probably buy several, but I am honestly offended by the markups, and I own at least a dozen Disney Veras and another dozen Disney Dooneys. I am an easy sale usually. Don't jack up a price, give me a discount, and call it a perk. Disappointed in the product and the offer.

Ordered the Vera tote last night :yay:

Last Thursday, at BCV, I saw a woman with the original DVC Vera tote (the BLUE one). It was SO pretty. I complimented her on it and she said it was a lot of "hard work" for her DH to get it for her (she did not elaborate on that).

I agree. I believe the Alex and Ani DVC are the same price as the regular ones on the Alex and Ani site. THE fact that members can order more than one of each and they are still available a week after launch tells me that members are not going crazy over these. I would have bought either the tote or the backpack if they had made it with the quilted Mickey heads like the other Disney Vera has. Just the added logo does not interest me.

The D&B letter carrier is actually not marked up from the usual leather letter carrier price.

There isn't a usual DVC discount, it only applies to DVC merchandise. But it looks to me like, yes, the 10% Disney Visa does also stack on DVC merchandise.

Yes, the Mickey heads need to be there....without those I can't justify the cost.

I really like the VB bags. I like how understated the black is and I love the embroidered DVC logo with stars. But I don't like the price. If they had the wristlet that can hold a droid phone, I'd be very tempted. As it is, I wish I could find a patch with the DVC logo and put it on an off brand bag.

I have the blue Vera bag and I'm ordering the black one. The blue bag is larger than the fushia and black totes with the Mickey embroidery. I was going to get one of those at DL in May but they are smaller. I use it for taking work back and forth from home with my laptop and lots of paperwork. When we travel it is my "personal item" as I can slip a smaller purse into it. I've been pleased with the first one.

It looks like it's much easier than it used to be.

OK, I think I did it. I wanted to show the size with my ipad and my Dell ultrabook for comparison. The color is much prettier in person.

Thanks! So it is a decent sized bag. I'm not sure I'm going to like the black as much as that blue, but they still didn't use the Mickey heads in the quilting. Mine should arrive soon, so I'll post a photo of it when it comes.

I think it's a great size. I wanted the pink/fuschia one that is in the parks but it is smaller and wouldn't work for how I use it.

Hmmm, yes, I was assuming that the new bag would be the same size as the fuchsia ones in the park. I'll be glad if it's a little bigger, like your blue one.
