i booked it also when those rates dropped.

one of the best deals i have received in many years.

United is really struggling to get people to fly with them so they are having to mark prices down far more than Delta, Southwest, or American.

Yeah, they have not been doing very well lately with late (you name the reasons) and cancelled flights. Some veteran flyers say they are just running too tight of a schedule and are turning their planes around in shorter times causing all sorts of problems. It doesn't help that they are having contract issues with their flight attendants and mechanics or so I've read over on Flyertalk. I hope they get it sorted out before fall when I'm flying with them.

they have changed my departure time now but it is only a 5 minute difference.
not an issue.

i had booked with SW originally back in March for my fall trip.
when i was looking at SW site last month, saw that my flight had disappeared.
then read on the boards that some posters were getting changed to different flights as their original flight had been dropped.
i called SW and inquired about my situation. was told i was on the list to be notified of being switched to a different flight and it had a switch of planes.

talked to a supervisor and was able to cancel a get away fare booking.
told them that i could not accept the change they gave me.
requested a complete refund and it was approved.
it wasn't difficult to accomplish that.
received the credit on my cc now.

booked united when the rates dropped.
even with luggage costs, it is still way below of what i had with the SW booking.
