1) Between Saturday and Sunday, did two weddings and a Vow Renewal at The Fort.
2) The wedding on Sunday was probably the cutest wedding of which I have been a part.
3) A Navy Seaman (E-3) wanted to get married before his deployment. *
4) They rented a pontoon boat at the marina for one hour.
5) We "sailed" on the lake and had the ceremony, with the happy couple and two guests.
. . . motored for about 15-minutes
. . . we stopped the boat and had the ceremony **
. . . cruised for the balance of the hour
. . . afterward, went to Crockett's Tavern for a toasting
6) What a clever way to get hitched at WDW; I had never thought of such.
7) I LOVED IT !
* I asked him about his "deployment". Turns out he was on temporary assignment to the San Diego Naval Base! Not what I had envisioned when he mentioned being deployed.
** While the boat was stopped and we had just started the ceremony, a guard-boat pulled alongside and asked if we had a problem, since we were not moving. When we told him what was happening, (I had my collar and stole on), he said "congrats" and left us alone. Then, as he pulled away, he held up his hand and gave us a big Thumbs Up. (If I ever have such, again, I think it will be smart to have the guests slowly drive the boat during the ceremony, so we don't have to stop and drift on the lake, arousing questions from the guards.)
