every time I go on something has changed and that's if I can get in. Now when I look for my points all I get is my vacations page with upcoming trips. Still looking for my points. Yesterday it took me about 10 minutes trying to figure out were they would put them. I found them finally but now today were are they DVC.

I'm assuming you're talking about the DVC website. :badpc:

Got to agree that Disney needs major lessons on how to design and maintain a website.

"My Vacation Points" is a link that will take you to detailed info about your points.

I agree. The new trees and information organization is much worse. Instead we got lots of marketing info....and info to learn about DVC up front and center.

I think you can go to your dashboard and if you scroll to the bottom you'll see point totals and if you click on that you'll be taken to the points page.

REALLY like this - as there is a very simple answer to it....

A BUSINESS does not HAVE to redesign anything - if the original actually performs all of the BUSINESS tasks that are needed. If all you are getting is constant confusion, and no increased functionality? Then the re-design was a waste of time and money - both for you AND Disney.

OKW Lover, I'm an older Web Geek.... 27 years in IT Research, now retired. Sandy and I pioneered this technology for a fortune 500. Being Geeks, and tweaking things all the time? I'm glad WE had a COMPETANT CIO (Chief Information Officer) that SOMETIMES outright told us "it has no business value". That's a CIO's JOB - to restrain the over eager Tech folks and develop solid BUSINESS SYSTEMS. OUR CIO taught me a lot - a business website is there to conduct BUSINESS, in a solid fashion - not to deliver Today's latest Tweet's from the Tech Staff :) - then break.

What you are seeing throughout the Disney Web Infrastructure is a fundamental lack of leadership. Little Tech Duchy's playing with an Enterprise System responsible for conducting some fairly serious transactions. Disney deserves better - they need a REAL CIO that is capable of DOING THE JOB. Currently? They don't have one.

Once I looked all the way to the right and saw My DVC Membership, I breathed a sigh of relief. THIS website looks like the way websites should look. None of the "mobile friendly" junk everyone is putting out.

First I see my vacations, I scroll down, there are my points (hi, points!), scroll down, there are my dues, scroll, there's my loan (gasp!) info... Beautiful.

Other than that, seems like there's a ton of info that before you had to search for, or get from the Dis... It's all very nice, IMO.

So that's the second good thing I have seen out of Disney IT; first is the Navigator app for DCL.

Sorry that I disagree with you, OP! I'm loving it!

that is what I was hitting and all it gave me was my upcoming trips, go fugure.

I just used same link, under Vacation Points, you can click the words, Vacation Points or use the arrow on the right. Then you can view your account by contract. I used "View Activity Statement" so we could confirm how the points were allocated from each contract for our recent reservations.

I hope it works for you.

I finally found the points section but the website is so slow, it's hard to know if it's processing the request. Error messages seem to be less.

On a side note, until a few years ago, MS was still using an IBM AS 400 system so they are improving, two years ago Member Satisfaction was recording member contacts in excel.

I really dislike the website change as well. I find it much harder to find the information I'm looking for. I don't really want to have all the sales information. It was so slow and the first time I logged on, I couldn't seem to get any information when going on the links. Perhaps I wasn't patient enough, but it was taking much longer than it should. They seem to want to encourage us to use the website rather than calling member services, but the site is so cumbersome and difficult that it hard to say it is a better choice.

The system was extremely slow the first time I went into my Vacation Points, but the second time I got there quickly. I was thinking that perhaps the day after a holiday the system might have more activity from members and that could slow it down.

I heard that they maybe upgrading the systems to new hardware which should improve the speed. I guess they outgrew the Atari 800 that they are using now!

I just went into it, looks like they changed the setup to match the main Disney website.

MS still uses AS400 for many of their functions, as do many various departments of DVC. Sales still uses AS400Z as well.

Please tell me you are kidding :(. My God, the net effect is that of dropping a Ferrari engine into a Model T..... the back end is just gonna choke :(. Does WDW NOT have a competent architect?

At Disney the bean counters have all the power, they will use old technology backstage until they are forced to upgrade. The only reason MDE and MB's happened is because it was projected that it would make Disney billions of dollars.

I liked the older version but see no major problems with this one. I found everything very easily.
