Pressed Pennies?

Just wondering if there are still Pressed Penny machines throughout the parks? We're headed back to Disney this month and my oldest son loved collecting the pennies when he was younger. He'd like to make them again with his younger brothers. I'm hoping the machines are still there.

You can google pressed penny machines in Disney and get a good idea of what is available. I printed one last time we were there in case there was a certain one we had to have. Most of the resorts have them also.

Yes! I LOVE pressed pennies. At any guest relations location you can get info on where they are all located. It's 6 pages front and back stapled together! :)

I started a tradition with DS (and now DD has joined in) on us buying a pressed penny book and getting new ones every year. It's a really cheap souvenir and we put the year we got it on the back of the penny in nail polish and we know each year we got that particular one. They really enjoy finding new pennies each time we go. The ones date with the year are really cool too.

Such a great, easy, and as you said, cheap souvenir! I grew up near a rail yard and we would walk there and put our pennies on the tracks and wait for the trains to go by. Love the penny books they have at WDW too!

The nail polish is such a smart idea! I think I'm going to have to start dating my pennies - thanks for the tip Jim!

I have a collection from my last trip. I'm going to make a bracelet with them.

Any time. It's great to look back at some and then you think "what trip did we get this one" and you turn it over and has the year.

I really love that! I wonder if adding the initials of the park or resort to the back might fit? It would be neat to know where they're from as well if the pennies don't say it.

I hadn't heard of the book!! What a great idea! We loved this during our 2009 trip and can't wait to get some really good ones of our favorite Disney peeps

My kids love the pressed pennies.
My daughter does a different "theme" each time so she knows when she got each one.

Does anyone have the map/list available? DD got a bunch of pressed pennies last time we were there and I'd like cross off in advance the ones we got so we're sure to get some new ones! They are still 51 cents right?

Haven't looked for the list yet, but my daughter has already filled an empty M&M tube with alternating pennies and quarters. She is ready!!

I saw a recent blog of some of the machines turned into more of a keepsake machine that took bills/credit cards with a lot more options. I'd keep an eye out for them in case this trend is going to be replacing them all.

Thank you so much for the info! We're making the special m&m tubes for our quarters and pennies too! Now we can make a plan before going.
