DVC Newbie Surprise this morning-only 7 days?

My 11 month window opened up at my home resort (VGF) this morning. I went online exactly at 7amCST prepared to book my June 3-12 reservation. This is the first time I have tried to book a reservation longer than 7 days so I was surprised to find I could only book for 7 days! So I made my reservation for June 3-10 and will have to book the night of the 10th and the 11th still at some point. Do I have to wait until July 10th to go on and try and book for June 10th and the 11th? Is this treated as 2 reservations? Will we have to change rooms? Is there any other way to book June 10th and 11th without waiting till July 10th? Of course my concern is that those 2 nights will already be booked by the time I'm able to get them. Would love to hear your advice!! Thanks!

no - i would just call in in 2 days and have MS complete the reservation for you.

Is this treated as 2 reservations?

if you book the last 2 nights online, you cannot combine the reservations yourself - although you can still call in and have MS combine the 2 separate reservations if you did it that way.

But don't book the last two online if you are worried about getting them.

Call MS between 7/5 and 7/9 to add them. Tell MS you want 6/10 & 6/11 added to your existing reservation. They do this all the time for reservations longer than 7 nights. You will end up with one continuous reservation. As long as you call on 7/5, 7/6, 7/7, 7/8 or 7/9, you will be virtually guaranteed to get those last two nights. No one else can book them until 7/10.

I booked next May 6-13 at 0800 on my 11 month day. I was sad that May 4-5 were not available. I kept checking and when they came open later that afternoon I grabbed them. MS was able to combine both reservations into one. Now when I see them on the website it is May 4-13 under that one reservation...we will not have to change rooms.

OP here- thanks for the feedback! I called MS this morning and was able to add 2 days onto the end of my reservation so now we are all set for 9 nights/10 days at VGF! Can't wait!!

I have to do this to book Aulani as well. Kind of a pain. Wish they would let you book up to 2 weeks or at least 10 days at a time.

a few years ago, you would have been calling every single morning for the entire length of your reservation for some resorts. count your blessings...

That would be more room for "walking" reservations. People with a high number of points could really take advantage.
