Hello again! And question about BA Price Promise...

Hello all! Long time no see....I haven't posted in a long long time but have continued to lurk and now that my other half has FINALLY agreed that we can go back next May, I'll hopefully be around more often!

I was just wondering if anyone has successfully claimed using BA's Best Price Guarantee policy? I have found BA flights for next year via Netflights that are around £80 cheaper than booking directly with BA. While £80 isn't a massive amount I'd like to get the flights as cheaply as possible and so I'm very tempted to book via Netflights even though I'd much rather book direct. I came across BA's Best Price Guarantee policy which states I would have to book on BA.com and send them a screenshot within 24 hours with details of the competing fare and they will give me a decision within 2 business days.

I'm debating whether it's worth the hassle (no guarantee they'll uphold the claim) or whether I should just bite the bullet and book via Netflights.

Welcome back!

I have never heard of anyone claim with BA, I remember a few years ago a few people were unsuccessful with VA price promise.

I have used Netflights a few times for flights & car hire, never a problem so I would just use them myself.

Hi Wayne! I have ducked in and out for the last year or two and always pleased to see you around as you're always so clued up when it comes to flights!

Do you know if there is anything I would miss out on by booking via Netflights? I guess I would be able to do online check-in and everything as normal as if I'd booked directly?

Look at T&Cs
Netflights has a 2% credit card fee, so if you're using one it will lower the price difference as BA will consider the price including all fees

But note that netflights also has a price match guarantee

So, we have BA and Netflights that both guarantee you won't find cheaper ... Only logical conclusion is that this guarantee is so hard to claim that it's useless, or they agree on prices so that you can never get a cheaper one all fees accounted for

I've considered this guarantee at one point but decided that the chances of getting my money back were so slim that it wouldn't be worth the risk not booking direct with the airline

Thanks, chmurf! I'm more reassured to book with Netflights now as I'd rather lock in the cheaper price.

Now to wait until Monday....I already booked my annual leave for my dates a while back but it's working out even chesper to fly Monday-Monday and so I need to double check with work that I can add the Monday and Tuesday at the end of what I've already got off. Fingers crossed the prices are still there!!

Never used them for BA flights to be sure but used them for other airlines and no problems. You should get a booking ref so you can log into BA site.

Well I've bitten the bullet and just booked with Netflights! Couldn't risk missing out on flights at £389 each! I've received my confirmation email but unable to login online anywhere yet....not worried though as it said this can take time so I'll try again tomorrow.

Now to get a new countdown :cloud9:

Yes, you need to wait a while. You get confirmation thru then e-tickets a while later. Let me look at time span (I booked some flights to Ghana for Matt a few week ago with Netflights)
Booked at 9:31pm, e-tickets came thru at 1:13am so about 4 hours.

That's great, thanks for telling me that, Wayne! The worrier in me wants it to work right now but I'll have to be patient...it was a bit of a fraught booking process as Netflights actually timed out when I was making payment so I never got to see the confirmation page (which I'd usually print out) but I've received my confirmation email and called them to double check so all good.

It timed out for me also, they don't give you much time but I double check and triple check every detail so most sites time out on me.
