Hello All!
I need help! We will be traveling to disney on January 25th. this trip will be myself, hubby, grandma, and our then 2 year old son.
I have 3 of our 4 restaurants picked but I am at a total loss for the last one.
Already picked-
Ohana (MK Day)
Via Napoli (Epcot day)
Tusker House Breakfast (AK day)

We will not have the park hopper so our last choice has to be either at HS or a resort.
We were thinking maybe Cape May or Chef Mickeys???
Any other ideas? keep in mind the toddler factor!
thanks for any and all help!

We love Chef Mickey's (although I think we are in the minority here:-)). The Fab 5 and the monorail / waving napkins will likely help keep your little one entertained. Cape May breakfast is fantastic, but tough to get to unless you are staying at a Boardwalk resort.
If you are interested in a TS in DHS, maybe 50's Prime Time? It is an 'interactive' place (you are being served by your 'aunt' or 'cousin'). There are tables with tv's that play old shows like 'Leave it to Beaver' type shows ... maybe entertaining to your toddler?
I really like the other ADR's that you have selected!

glad to hear a positive review on chef mickeys. I read such terrible things about it on here it has kind of scared me. We aren't picky or have high expectations. I mean come on, its a buffet! everything isn't going to gourmet!
We just decided to add another night to our trip so now I need 5 ressies total! starting to lean strongly toward chef mickey dinner.

Chef Mickey's. I really don't know where all the negative reviews come from - that was the first restaurant we went to on Disney property and it's been a tradition ever since. My boys rank it as their #1 and my husband and I like the breakfast buffet. I wasn't a big fan of the dinner buffet, but it wasn't bad by any means. It's fun, it's entertaining, and we have had some amazing character experiences there.

People say it's loud, but I've never noticed anything out of the ordinary. It's a restaurant in the middle of an A-frame with three/quarter walls and a monorail running through on the level above - I certainly wasn't expecting romantic ambiance.

I have heard mixed reviews on Hollywood and Vine, but my 2 year old LOVES the Disney Junior characters. So we have it booked for our trip coming up in a few weeks. He is going to be thrilled. I can't report on food quality since I haven't been yet, but it may be a good choice for that age group.

My choice would be 1900 Park Fare. We loved buffets when the kids were younger, and it is so much fun to go into the GF!

Went to H&V for breakfast and Prime Time for lunch last Oct. Honestly H&V was better than I expected. It was honestly one of the best character interactions we've had at any character meal. The food was good for a buffet! If your little one is into Disney Jr, I highly recommend it!

We are trying Chef Mickeys dinner this time. We have done many breakfasts there but my boys do not want to do any breakfasts this trip.

I agree with H&V for the Disney junior show for breakfast. Or,you can do the Fantasmic dinner package at Mama Melrose

Lunch at 50s PTC at HS would be a good choice. Its nostalgic, which your grandma may enjoy, food is good, and its always consistent. My concern for CMs is this...you never know how your little one will react to characters that are larger than life. Face characters, most kids react pretty well, but I have witnessed the meltdown with young ones. My DS hid when he was 5 under the table at Donalds Restaurantasauras when Goofy came around.

We love Chef Mickeys! We have done both breakfast and dinner many times and have always had good experiences. I think Chef Mickeys is a must do at least once (just my opinion). Another suggestion would be Cape May. Cape May is our favorite breakfast on property and characters are only at breakfast, but we also love dinner.

Since you're already doing Tusker and will meet some of the fab 5, I would go for H & V Disney Jr, assuming your 2 year knows the characters. If not, then Chef Mickeys is always a great choice. We enjoyed it when we went.

While Chef Mickey's may have mixed reviews due to food, it never disappointed for the kids interaction with the characters. IMO that is what you go there for. Also with the xtra day if you are going to MK that day it is a quick walk from the Contemporary.

The Sci-Fi diner in HS! What 2 yr old wouldn't want to eat in a pretend car? They serve American style food.

My kids loves Chef Mickey's! We did it last time we went for the first time- my kids were 1 and 3 and we are going again now when my kids are 2.5 and 5. We planned it as our arrival day dinner since we won't be heading to the park but they will still get to see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, etc. My husband and I agree it is not the best food, but it wasn't terrible and the kids truly had a great time- Goofy even did the hot dog dance for them. Other than that, Hollywood and Vine Breakfast/lunch is great too because it has the Disney Junior Characters!
