Fantasy 9/26/15 Eastern Caribbean

Hello shipmates!
DH, DSx2 and I will be joining all of you on our (hopefully) sunny sailing. This will be our second cruise on the Fantasy. Our first was last year, western Caribbean 7day at the end of September. We loved it so much that we booked our second trip before we left the first!!

1153rsmith -- Jack Sparrow was in our Pirate Night show last year, made individual/character photo appearance and was on Castaway Cay.

Sooo, I am not seeing how to PM my FE info. I have at least 10 posts. Where is the "start a conversation" area to click? Someone help a sister out....

If you go back one page, and click on mhconley's signature, it should pop information up about him and allow you to start a conversation. There may be another way to do it, but that is the only one I know. I am still learning my way around this new version of the boards. Welcome aboard! And thanks for the info about Jack. We always enjoy meeting him. I wish the Fantasy would get some Marvel characters like the Magic has.

Congratulations! We're celebrating our 20th anniversary on 9/30. This is our second cruise. My tips: relax and enjoy the cruise. You can't do everything but you'll have a blast.

Jack Sparrow was out on pirate night on our 2013 cruise, plus lots of little Jack Sparrows running around.

Sometimes it takes a little while for the private message capability to appear. It will, just give it time.

Can't wait to meet everyone. We have a teal custom cruise lanyard. Be sure to buy them to see and be seen by other cruise group members. I'll send details via private message.

Hi... all!!
My husband, my mom, my 2 kids 9 & 6 and I we will be on this ship too. This will be our first time on Disney Fantasy. So excited to get to know and meet all of you very soon

Which shore excursions have you booked? We just returned from a cruise to Bermuda and now we need to take a closer look at the options for Port Adventures on St. Maarten and St. Thomas. We try not to overschedule as far as shore excursions go - we have often found it very enjoyable to simply hire a taxi/local private guide for 4-6 hours in order to explore the different areas of an island, stopping along the way wherever and whenever we choose.
I'm looking forward to a warm, sunny day at Castaway Cay! We plan to do the 5k.

For those who are new with only a few posts, you will not be able to use the private conversation system until you reach 10 posts. You can go to the DIS Technical Support/Test board where you can quickly and easily post some one word (or one letter) posts to get your count up to 10. Once you have 10 posts, you will be able to start private conversations as well as use some other DIS functions (signature, upload images).

There is also a cruise meet planned for the first day on deck near Eye Scream & Frozone Treats, time TBD. We also have a cruise lanyard available for $3 each, contact me for details on how to order them.

Hey Disney AgentK,

We have been to both St. Thomas and St. Maarten before. Last time we at St. Thomas, we took a taxi to Sapphire Beach and snorkeled on our own. At St. Maarten, we hired Bernard's Tours and took the tour of the island. We enjoyed both, but wanted to do something different for this trip. At St. Thomas, we are doing the Champagne Catamaran Sail and Snorkel. We don't drink, but we wanted to see St. Johns and this one looked like the best of what we want to do. At St. Maarten, we are doing the Under Two Flags island tour. I hope we like it. We wanted to go back to Margot, but didn't really care to spend all day doing it.

We too hope for a warm sunny day at Castaway Cay. We have been there twice and both times were rainy and the water was cool. We really want to be able to enjoy a beautiful day there. Looking forward to the sea days as well. We have never been on the Fantasy so we want to spend some good time exploring it. My teenagers are looking forward to hitting the teen club and meeting some new friends.

Is there a fee for the 5k at CC? My son runs cross country and had thought about doing it.

Hello all....my wife, 3 year old granddaughter and I will be on this cruise also. First time Disney Cruisers so very excited. Hope to meet people and have someone for little to play with. We have early dinner rotation. I am going to look into FE as it looks very interesting.

Hey 1153rsmith,

Snorkeling on our own at Sapphire Beach sounds like a great plan. I think we may try that! Was the water relatively calm there? Was the beach crowded? We really enjoy snorkeling and want to take full advantage of the warm Caribbean waters while on vacation.

I have heard of Bernard's Tours and was actually thinking to hire them. How long was your tour of St. Maarten? We just did a 6-hour private guided tour of Bermuda and it was fantastic. Like you, we are interested in visiting both the Dutch and French sides of the island. We especially enjoy learning about the history and culture of the islands we visit (not so much interested in shopping).

We are also looking forward to the sea days. There is a lot to do and explore on the Fantasy. The list of activities on the daily Personal Navigator can be overwhelming! It's important to prioritize because, try as you might, it simply isn't possible to do it all. Our nearly 10-year-old is excited to go to the Oceaneer Club/Lab.

I truly hope we have good weather on CC. It sounds as if you are due a beautiful, sunny day on the island! There is no fee to do the CC 5k. It's a non-competitive "race" - the best part is that all participants receive an official runDisney medal!
