So, is it too early to talk 2016?

Just thirding the option of a train between NYC and Washington (or vica versa). So easy and inner city to inner city and only takes around 3 hours. We left NYC on a morning train and got in after lunch so good timing and we just crossed from the train to the Washington subway system to get to a station right near our hotel. We had 2.5 days in Washington and it was enough to get a feel for the place and see a selection of the museums but you could easily spend longer. NYC we had 5 full days and could have easily spent longer but I would estimate 7-8 days is enough to see NYC and Washington if you have a full week you can allocate to it. Happy planning!

Yay! More 2016 planners! :wizard: I'm thinking we should make an official 2016 planning thread :scratchin I know I really enjoyed keeping up with everyone's plans when I was planning my 2014 trip! I don't think it can ever be to early to plan a trip! Starting to plan now will go in your favor, especially now with dining reservations being booked (is it 60??) days in advance. With the likes of Fantasmic! now having fastpasses and inclusive dining options, it will be good to know what your doing on what days :) And who knows, they could have rolled out magic bands in DLR by then :confused3

Yep. I'm already on to the planning for 2016. It is looking, at this stage, like a week at WDW, 2 days at US and IoA followed by two short cruises on the Fantasy and Dream. Debatable whether there will be an overnight at Disneyland to check out the enhanced Fantasyland dark rides or not.

Visiting Tokyo Disneyland park this year made me desperately miss the Magic Kingdom.

I'm also at the planning stage this time we are planning on going with my sister in law and her husband they go to disneyland every year but this time they will be going to WDW

The plan is two weeks in WDW - including universal, NASA and IOA

Then two weeks in Disneyland and shopping

Totally not too early to start planning.. We just got back from the world dec 2014 and I have already started planning our next trip May 2016 ...we would like to do a week on Disney property with dining and then a week off ...to stay at the Vistana Resort ( which is the best ) Also would like to do two days universal. We have been to Disney three times so I know what to plan but universal is new to me.

Me too! Got back in sept from DW and am itching to get booking for dec 2016, so far I'm thinking 2 weeks DW a quick visit to universal, 7 night DCL and then 7 nights in NY for Xmas. Although was just looking at pics from the Alaska cruise, that is now added to my future trip list! Looks fab but wish it didn't depart from Canada.

Novice your plans sound awesome! Cruising Alaska is definitely on my bucket list.

We're going to sit down with our friends soon and go through a bit of a plan so we know what we're aiming for! At this stage my plans look a little something like below but obviously are open to change at this stage! Wish I knew when cruises are released for second half of next year *** that's what's going to effect us the most.

1 night LA (rather than flying straight through)
2 nights Nashville
5 nights WDW
2 nights Miami
7 night Caribbean cruise
3 nights Vegas

I think they cruise dates will be released anytime from mid February, if your on the fb page I'm sure you will hear about it quick enough, I'm also itching to start pricing my trip! Is anyone one using a us travel agent or just DIY?

So my plans have changed a little! For one, I have booked a trip to the UK to attend a family wedding in December this year. I am flying Emirates going through Dubai and then to Heathrow. What's everyone's thoughts on Emirates - are they ok? I will be going solo, leaving the family at home so quite nervous about that having never flown long distance on my own before or been to the UK before!
And 2) Disney plans are still on the go! We are not going to do NY/DC now. We will do LA-LV (2 nights and a quickie wedding while we are there!), then Grand Canyon 2 nights, then Florida for 2 weeks. We are planning to go December 10th and home on the 31st. Bit scared of Disney at Xmas but also hoping that it will give us a really nice experience and we can always just use fast passes.

I've already booked my 2016 trip! 6 months to go! Although i say it's never too early to start planning. It's all part of the fun. I always have trips planned in my head. What I think is funny is that most of us here plan Disney as the main attraction and everything else is a side trip.

Sooo, I was thinking that we would just stay in a hotel in LA overnight and then drive out to LV the next day. I think our flight will be arriving in the morning, so would it be crazy to arrive LA, take DME to DL, do a day at DL stay there overnight do a few hours the next morning and then drive to LV in the afternoon (about 4 hours I think?)? Or is that nuts?!

Add me into the 2016 planning club! We've definitely decided on September (hopefully comfortable weather and low crowds!), although the exact destinations are still up in the air. A decent length of time in New York is a definite (thinking maybe 10 days), then maybe a few days in Boston and DC and finally (although this, horrifyingly, is the part of the trip that we're least decisive about) Orlando for Disney World and Universal. Plus, seeing as we have to stop there anyway, we'll probably break up a flight with a quick stop in LA for the Citadel Outlets.

We're hoping to return next summer.

Honestly, I have no idea whether or not we'll be able to do it financially... my son starts college a month later. But we're going to try.

I'll book as soon as we return from this year's vacation at a lake upstate.

My problem is that I have champagne taste and a beer budget--- I really want to return to the Beach/Yacht Club. So we'll book that, and hope for incredible discounts.
