Surprise gift baskets?

My oldest DD and two of her friends are off to Disney World Oct 31-Nov 6th (we are still discussing the fact that she is going without me...LOL)

I'm wondering about having a "surprise" gift basket in the room for them when they get there.

Is there anywhere besides the actual Disney Floral & Gifts that might do a snack basket for them that is Disney themed and will deliver to their resort/room for me? And something reasonably priced?

You can make up
Your own basket and have it shipped to their resort. They won't deliver it to their room, but they can pick it up in the lobby. You'll have to obviously ship it packed in a box so it may not have the same appeal as having the basket displayed in the room, but it will be a lot cheaper. I've done this for my kids when the Disney florist baskets started getting more expensive with less items included.

There used be someone on here that did specialty baskets. She was incredible at it. Her dis name was feralpeg. I don't know if she still does them though.

Memories by Betsy, I think that's it, has done a couple for us and she did a great job. She will deliver to resort and the will put in room after you check in.

Unfortunately, no home based business can legally include snacks in a gift basket under Florida law. That is the main reason I am no longer on business.

Please keep in mind that no one, not even the Disney Florist, can have a basket in a room at check in unless they are staying concierge. Rooms are assigned at check in. They will deliver shortly thereafter.

Thanks! I had no idea how it worked. Even if they check in, hit the parks and it is in their room after, that works for me.

I get the home based/snacks - I'm in the food business myself (wedding cakes) and have to follow health laws for my separate, commercial kitchen in my basement. Thanks for the tips!

Are you opposed to using Disney Florist due to the price? (If you don't mind my asking.) We have used them multiple times and have always felt we got a great experience. They're amazing to work with and we have been able to find a few more affordable options that we enjoy (Mickeys Kool Snack being our favorite!) I'll link a few of our faves below :)

Disney Family Treats Tote (Mickey - they used to have Minnie too) - pretty pricey, but I am not even kidding, the amount of snacks in that thing was insane, and I customized it for our preferences. http://disneyworld.disneyfloralandg...reattote.do?sortby=priceAscend&page=2&from=fn

Thanks for that - it is so hard to tell from the photo - they don't give you a breakdown of what is in it. I thought they were a tad pricey - especially since we are Canadian so the exchange rate factored in as well makes it more. But they seemed like the easiest option.

I looked at the Kool Snack - what all comes in it?? We are talking three 19 year old girls, with free QS meal plan, so snacks will be high on their list!

We've had both of these are they are great! I still use my kool snack cooler bag and family treats tote. The tote has an insulated bottom for drinks / cheese strings / yogurt tubes - very handy!

I actually order from Disney Floral and Gifts most trips - and I'm Canadian too so I feel your pain on the exchange :crazy2:

When I order, I call it in rather than try to do it online - this way I can add the treats that I want added in. We have DDP too, so the drinks in the bags are not something that I need / want (because DDP comes with refillable mug). I take out the drinks and any other snacks we don't want (non-Disney snacks). I then start adding things such as the rice krispy mickey heads, bags of Goofy gummies, Disney themed chocolate bars, lollipops, etc. I have two teen DD's and they love to have these snacks on hand in the room. Disney Floral and Gifts will work with you to personalize what you want in your package - they are very patient and helpful, letting you know what fits in the package and the costs.
It is a bit pricey, but a totally fun surprise :yay:

Hope they have a great trip!

Also Disney Floral will completely customize a basket for you. You can poke through all the basket options on the website and then call them and tell them the individual items you want in your basket.

Like others have said, you can completely customize to meet your needs. If you go to the create your own gift section you can choose your container and add in whatever you want! Unfortunately, the kool snack cooler isn't one of the options, but the Mickey and Minnie ones are!

I'm trying to recall exactly what's included in the kool snack, so don't quote me, but from memory; 2 cans of soda, 1 bottle of water, 1 Disney lollipop, 3 mini bags of chips, 2 Disney Rice Krispie treats, Disney gummies, and there was more, but I can't remember!

I ordered the Kool Snack for our rooms for our July trip. With a Mylar balloon and shipping/tax it was $58. i think my teens will love it.

Thanks everybody!!

Once they are closer to their trip date I'll work some magic of my own - I appreciate the pointers!

I was just looking into getting the Kool snack! I was also thinking of having a cake delivered, too! Has anyone had the cake?

We've always ordered our cakes through Disney Dining. There's a HUGE Cake Chatter thread with all the info! They do great work!

I did a gift basket about ten years ago from Disney Florist and they customized it for me, which was great. The one I customized came with just one little plush Mickey, so I had them add a Minnie and a Pluto - one for my friend, one for me, and Pluto for my service dog! pluto: I also customized which snacks came in it, I believe. It came out fantastic! I would use them again for another special trip (that trip was me taking my best friend to Disney).

Disney floral was what I used last October. I actually found them to be decently priced on some of the items.

I got this
http://disneyworld.disneyfloralandgifts.com/product/mickeyskoolsnack.do?sortby=ourPicks&from=fn

and this
http://disneyworld.disneyfloralandgifts.com/product/disneyfamilytreattote.do?sortby=ourPicks&from=fn

The first one was not bad as far as that amount of snacks they stuffed in it and price.
The second was a bit pricy but my mom loves that bag and it works really well on car trips.

I added a balloon and two light up Mickey Ghosts (it was in October).

They actually delivered it while we were at dinner, she was going back to the room and I was going into a park, so it worked out brilliantly as a surprise.
