I touched on this on a previous post of mine. I wanted to know after Disney's acquisition of Marvel and Star Wars, and with all the upcoming movies of both property's and the rumored Star Wars land(yeah I'm hoping this happens:yoda:) What other intellectual property would you like to see get the Disney treatment, whether it be something you would like to see movies of, or a new attraction or land, for me I'd love to see them acquire the Power Rangers property I'd like to see a new Movie and maybe a transformers-esque(a-la Universal) type 3D ride where the Zords battle some Monster, you get what I'm saying. so what are your thoughts on this, remember your imagination is your only limit, it's all in the spirit of Fun.

I just wish they didn't pass up on the Harry Potter right for the theme parks.
Disney (if they wanted to) could have opened an entire theme park based solely on that and still made so much money.
I realise it's one IP and they'd never invest that much into a single IP park... But imagine how beautiful it could be!!
It wouldn't even have to be in Floroda or Cali.
Australia maybe....... Ok now I'm being selfish!

Disney wouldn't meet Rowling's demands. Full creative control, using the films and all the experience as the basis for the area and the price. Disney tried, Disney failed. Universal built an amazing area.

have you been to Diagon alley or Hogsmede? Universal did an amazing job! I don't think Disney could have done any better.

I would love Universal to have access to the Game of Thrones IP. I could imagine some really great rides.

Disney DID own the rights to Power Rangers for years. It was a big "dud" so they sold it.

Hogsmede and Diagon Alley are AMAZING!!! Plus, US build them in like 2 weeks. Disney would take 10 years. I am so looking forward to what US will build with their newly acquired Nintendo rights!

I think the only reason HP is/was so popular - is that people are tired of reboots, revisits, etc., and subconsciously yearn for original story ideas, especially when it comes to movies. That's one of the reasons Pixar has been so successful, they didn't just open a Grimm or Anderson storybook and turn one of their stories kid-friendly to sell to audiences.

I remember meeting them in HS that was pretty cool, but with al the nostalgia driven tv shows and movies I think it might work if they took a risk with them

I'm very aware of why they DIDNT get it... The post was talking about what we'd love to see... Fantasy...

Yes, I have. I'm not saying US didn't do a stunning job, I'm saying it would be awesome if disney could have invested into a larger area... Again, we're talking wish lists.

We're at a point right now where Universal is the one you want to get the rights to whatever IP it is we're talking about.Disney takes 5-10 years to announce rumored projects, another 5-10 years to build them and even when they build them people are underwhelmed. The new Fantasy land is an example of that, there were 2 negative posts for every positive one when they finished the land and then again for the 7DMT ride. The last project I was impressed with that Disney built was Everest like 10 years ago, since that time Universal has totally transformed their parks with amazing lands and attractions.

OK then, original post wasn't an attack on your point of view. Just sharing an opposing opinion of mine, being I don't think Disney would have done a better job. - :upsidedow

I've got another one, a more adult IP, but after watching Mad Max - Fury Road I'd love a simulator/test track type ride from this movie. I think with the saturated colours and the epic constant action in that movie would make for a thrilling and fantastic ride!

I think we're more likely to get a kid-friendly attraction of Pod Racers in DHS as a part of Star Wars expansion.

OP, I love the discussion. I will have to disagree with you on Power Rangers. For me, the issue with using them is that there has been like a million different versions of the Power Rangers. If they could just use the original, I would be all about it. Side note, I tried to watch it the other day on Netflix. It DOES NOT hold up well :).

I can't think of anything off the top of my head but I would love for them to get their own "Harry Potter". What Universal has done with that has been amazing.

Hey, maybe we can even visit one of Little Finger's brothels in universal. XD or a red wedding reenactment?
