Splitting checks?

Hello...we are a party of 10 with 3 different families. We are not on the dining plan but made all of the adr's for 10 so that we could dine together. Would our server do 3 separate checks or is this not allowed?

Yes, just tell the server which guests will be on which check and they'll separate the bill for your group. See the first post in the Tipping Thread for information about the automatic gratuity (note that tipping discussions are restricted to that thread).

1) yes.
2) Just tell SERVER who is on what check.
3) Be aware the 18% minimum tip will be applied automatically to each check.
4) Also, based upon the eatery, 10-people may be split among different tables. (Not always, but sometimes.) *
5) Same table or not, same SERVER or not, the automatic tip still applies.

* Sometimes splitting parties this is due to the restaurant layout, but more often to keep the number of tables and number of people somewhat evenly split among SERVERS. The union contract specifies such in order to even-out the workload AND the tips.
