Upcoming Trip

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section, but I had a few questions about a trip my husband and I will be going on this December.

My husband and I will be going down to Disney World with his friends (probably six people total [one person is still unsure if he's going or not]). Two of the friends live in Pennsylvania and the rest of us live in Oklahoma, so we will be traveling down there separately. Our plan right now is that we will drive down there and same goes for them. We will more than likely be staying at Bay Lake Tower since one of my husband's friends has DVC (if for some reason we can't get into Bay Lake Tower, a value resort is our backup option). I will be getting a job here in the coming weeks, so I won't know for sure what my schedule will be. Which comes to the questions I had.

1.) If we get down there first, are we able to check into the hotel even if his friend with DVC hasn't arrived or will we have to wait until his friend shows up?

2.) If for some reason I have to fly back home on checkout day (due to, let's say, work the next day), can I take the Magical Express by myself or does the entire party need to use the Magical Express?

1. If the DVC member has added your name to the reservation, then you should be able to check in even if the DVC member is not there yet.
2. You should be able to take it by yourself.

to even take Magical Express - you must be on his reservation. So that should not be a problem. If you need to change when you would be coming back - then you must tell Disney and DME - so they can change when to expect you. the DME buses only arrive when they have a reason (someone going back)

yes all you have to do is be put on the reservation list and then you can check in
