Here's my MNSSHP costume! I can't wait to wear it and hopefully I can get a picture of me wearing it in front of the Haunted Mansion!

That is a really wonderful idea!!!

Add me please :)

October 2 through October 8, 2016 - We are staying at Art of Animation in a Little Mermaid room. Booked yesterday!

It's just me and my daughter - we are planning on doing MNSSHP. I'll be dressed as the Tightrope Girl from the Haunted Mansion. My daughter will be one of the princesses.
:welcome:

Joining in - we will be at CSR 26 Oct through 5 Nov 2016 to celebrate Halloween and the boy's double digit birthday. He will turn 10 while we are there! :)
:welcome:

Please add us!

October 22 - 29 (2016) at The Beach Club. Everyone's all grown up now, so the five of us - my daughter, my son-in-law, my granddaughter, grandson and I - have booked a two-bedroom suite. I began that project on Day Minus-499 with the two days that the system allowed me to book and then added the remaining five nights ... one night ... one day ... at a time ... :)

Added our Park Hopper Tickets and Memory Maker on the 22nd. But, this time (for the first time ever), we're thinking of paying cash for our meals and drinks rather than buying a Dining Plan. There have just been too many evenings when I would rather have had a soothing cocktail (or glass of wine) than another too-much appetizer - or dessert - at dinner.

We've been before in October (staying at The Beach Club) and loved it. But, by the time we arrive, it wiil have been thirteen years since our last visit to WDW. So, we're expecting some significant changes and would love to hear what all of you who've been more recently feel we'll notice the most.
:welcome:

We are booked for the 24th-29th! I ended up booing CBR instead of POFQ because the kiddie area at CBR looks awesome!

I've been planning my trip for MONTHS but I'm still unsure of the exact dates or where to stay. BUT it's definitely Oct. 2016! Just waiting for my little girl to arrive this Oct. so I can figure out the best week to go next year for her birthday.

Congrats ravenanne!

My daughter's birthday is October 17 - October babies are awesome :)

Have any of you been to Universal in October before? My early research showed that we could do everything we wanted to do at Universal in one day, since crowds should be low, but the more I look at things at Universal the more I think maybe we should spend two days? And then if we spend two days, maybe we should stay there? (We were hoping for free dining and would stay at Disney and shuttle over to Universal so that we only ate lunch at Universal and had a late dinner at Disney on their dime) but I don't know?

We've never been to Universal before. Should I plan for two days? We're both adults, so we'll be skipping the kid's stuff.

We're doing Universal in early November this year & have planned two days. No kids, but we want to take our time (especially in the WWoHP) without feeling rushed. I don't think the lines are as big of an issue at Universal as they are at Disney, but the thought of cramming two parks into one day just didn't feel like a relaxed enough pace. I don't want to deal with aching feet for the rest of the trip!

We are going to Universal for 3 days in October. Were HUGE Harry Potter fans, so we could easily spend an entire day just in the HP areas. Are you planning on doing Halloween Horror Nights? If not, keep in mind that the Studios side closes around 5pm on days there are HHN. We looked into staying at a Universal hotel, but decided to stick with Disney and get the extra dining credits for those days because we too will be eating lunch at Universal then dinner when we get back to the hotel. Plus, unless you want to shell out to stay at one of their deluxe hotels to get the free express pass, the only perk with Cabana Bay is the hour early admission. Since theres only two adults I would recommend the Mears shuttle. its on $20 RT per person per day, where as with a taxi its $40 each way. Hope this helps!

We were planning on doing the Dreams Unlimited shuttle+tickets. It's only about another $150 to add a second day, so I think I'll talk to DD about possibly doing a second day. We are DEFINITELY not interested in HHN. And yeah, I still can't justify the price of a deluxe universal hotel, and staying at cabana beach doesn't seem to be all that advantageous.

We had originally planned on two days and then I got all disney-greedy. But I think since we're making the effort to go to Universal this time, we shouldn't feel too rushed.

Are you taking an early flight down to Orlando? Our first trip we got down to Orlando around 11am and went right to Universal, then spent the entire next day at Universal as well. If you feel you can get through most of the park in one day, it might be worth it to have that extra half day just incase, or to take it easy.

We're coming in around 11, yeah, but the more I think about it the more I don't want to deal with Universal hotels, so we'd have to get our stuff to Disney before we could go to Universal, and that would eat up more of that first day.

Congrats ravenanne!

My daughter's birthday is October 17 - October babies are awesome :)

Thank you! I'm due the 4th, so here's to hoping she doesn't come early ;) I'm super excited to have Halloween themed birthday parties! The only drawback is being pregnant in this summer heat.

So far my daughter has had a Princess themed party and a Ninja themed party. I try and carve her a pumpkin every year too.

Halloween is my favorite holiday so I was extra geeked to have an October baby - plus her birthday is a good excuse to go to Disney in the fall.

I'm starting to think dining but it's going to be a lot of character meals since it's just me and my daughter. I did convince her that we can skip Chef Mickey's - we went last trip and while my daughter loved it for the characters the food left something to be desired.
