Sadly Disney announced Disney Quest will be closing sometime in 2016.
Disney said , " they will be making room for a NBA themed restaurant"

Ok common another restaurant.
NBA is a limited market. We don't watch the NBA , a lot of my friends do not watch the NBA.

Disney knows best! I guess.

Oh and I was so hoping for a Frozen themed virtual wonderland with a snow machine, real reindeer and "Do you want to build a snowman" on the speakers all day kind of like IASW.

We visited DisneyQuest when it first opened. At the time, it was pay as you go. We thought that was great. We could pop in for an hour or two and play a few games and then go do something else. Once they switched to a fixed admission price, that ruined it for us and we've never been back. It just wasn't worth laying out that much money for a couple of hours and it wasn't something we were going to commit an entire day to doing.

We have zero interest in the NBA experience so we won't be doing that either. So basically no loss to us either way. We didn't do DisneyQuest and we won't do the NBA thing.

I've never cared for DisneyQuest, but I think I care even less about an NBA restaurant.

Don't they have one those at Universal?

It's a shame DisneyQuest couldn't be updated instead, I'm not a sporty person and even had to google 'NBA' to see what it stands for. (Doh, sorry!) Not one for me on our next trip.

DisneyQuest just never lived up to the concept. It was supposed to be ever-changing, showcasing the latest and greatest technology. I imagine it was just too expensive to actually make that a reality. The original plan was to open a chain of them around the country. The only one that ever came to be was in Chicago and that closed in 2001. After that, they scrapped plans to build others in Philadelphia, Toronto, Anaheim, etc. How the Florida one hung on all these years is beyond me.

NO great loss, its so out of date these days. NBA cafe is a bit limited though. saying that I would still check it out but honestly would rather just eat as an ESPN zone

This was our first year going to DisneyQuest. I thought it was pretty cool that you pay one price and can play anything inside. It was full of people when we went so it seemed to be popular. I wonder if the NBA place will have the same "pay one price to play" concept. I personally like that option better than a pay as you play deal. With 3 boys we can spend a pretty penny in a Dave & Busters type place.

I guess more people prefer that since they switched to that not long after it opened. As I said earlier, though, that's what has kept us away ever since. I prefer to be able to walk in, just like a normal arcade, play a few games, and then leave. This way you have to commit an entire day to it.
