OMG I smell!! Can you Smell Me? Excuse me, can I help you? 5 days of dining!COMPLETE

Why don't you split meals with your friend? When I travel with friends or family I always share meals. It keeps the waste and cost down. American portion sizes can be ridiculous.

For the most part, after this meal, we have completely different tastes in food. Actually, I'm pretty sure she was in line for a taco salad and changed her mind last minute for this one too. When travelling with family we usually share meals or some parts of it anyways because its just too much!

Too bad you have different food tastes but still sounds like you are having lots of fun. Enjoy the World!

BOMA!!!

After spending the afternoon shopping and hanging out, we headed over to Animal Kingdom Lodge for our dinner at Boma. We went over about an hour before our reservations so we could check out the animals and the lodge since I had never been there before. I loved it! We saw a ton of animals and roasted some marshmellows outside. We checked in a bit early and were seated within 10 minutes of being there, a little before our reservation time of 7:30pm!

I was nervous to try Boma because I am a pretty picky eater. To put it in perspective, I mostly stick to chicken or turkey unless it's a hamburger, I don't eat any seafood at all and I can't handle that much spice (although I will try). I was very glad that we tried this. Originally it was either Boma or Sanaa, but we thought a buffet would be better since we weren't sure what we would like.

Once we were seated, we were greeted promptly by our waiter. I had a root beer and Caitlyn had Pomegranate Lemonade! We were starving so we got up pretty quickly to grab our first round of food. I started off with some sundried tomato hummus with pita and some crisp thing. This hummus was delicious!!

I also grabbed some salad and added in feta, roasted red peppers and some sunflower seeds, with the chipotle & sundried tomato dressing

My first plate of real food had the durban style roasted chicken (YUM) with a side of the african inspired bbq sauce, some kind of cous cous, regular mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, sweet potato fries, broccolini and chicken salad with chili cilantro. I really liked the chicken, both potatoes and the cous cous. The broccolini was just okay; I think it just wasn't flavours that I like because brocolini is normally one of my favourite vegetables. It was cooked very nicely though!

My second plate was a little less adventurous for me. I had more salad, corn bread, rice with the tomato stew, and mac and cheese. I liked everything on this plate!

My last plate was dessert!! I finally got to try Zebra Domes. They were pretty good, although I'm not sure they deserve the hype they get...that said I'm not a dessert person - creme brulee is my favourite, other than that I'm happy with ice cream or a cupcake! I would eat them again though!

The cost of the meal was $42.59 for one person.

I am so glad that we ate here and would regularly add Boma into my dining rotation in the future!

We walked around the resort a little more and then headed back to our room because we had a very long day the next day!! Next up: Be Our Guest pre park opening breakfast, Be Our Guest Lunch and Cosmic Rays Dinner!

The food looks delicious. I wil be staying at AKL with my family in December and will certainly eat dinner there. Luckily we will have the free DDP so won't have to pay.

Following! Good report so far.
I am from Ontario and our trip always starts with Tim's as well.
And I totally agree on US Subway... its just not the same.

Today would prove to be an extremely long and hot day, but a good one! We managed to score Be Our Guest breakfast reservations a while back - 8:00am pre park opening ones at that! Then, the week before our trip, I saw a lunch reservation open up...we didnt want to give up our pre park opening ressie but we also wanted to try lunch, so we kept both.

We were actually running a little late to our reservation since we got turned around because we missed a turn going to magic kingdom, and then the resort monorail was the only one running...I think we arrived just after 8 and walked right in. We didn't pre-order and waited maybe 5-10 minutes in line to order. It was pretty painless - you check in with the CM like you would at dinner and they direct you to where you need to go. We both actually ordered off the kids menu for this meal because neither of us are huge breakfast eaters. I am so glad I did because I saw the size of the adult meals going around and I would have never made a dent in them. Plus we got the pastries as well, so that helped in terms of what we ate. I liked that drinks were included in this meal!

(Sorry for the lighting in these pictures)

Here is the pastry selection. I really enjoyed the danish and both croissants! We split everything in half!

Caitlyn got the Crepes de Cosgworth - crepes stuffed with yogurt, fresh berries and wildberry foam

Caitlyn hated this. She said it was awful - something about the foam and yogurt not really going well together. We really wanted to like this one!

I got the Scrambled Eggs de Maurice with bacon. This was pretty standard for disney bacon and eggs. I felt that this portion size was enough for me in the morning, however if you are a big breakfast eater it probably wouldn't be enough food. We were both able to get a fountain drink as well instead of milk or water. I think I had lemonade.

Both meals cost $11.99 + tax.

After our breakfast, it was about 8:40 so we had some time to kill before the park opened. We sat on some benches in fantasyland deciding whether to hit 7DMT first (we had a FP+ later) or go for Pan. Well, all of a sudden it was around 9 and a cast member says look up and we see this massive rush of people behind the rope so we rushed off to Peter Pan, no wait! I love the new que. We did a couple other rides (Haunted Mansion, met Merida, Buzz and the people mover), met the fairy god mother & charged our phones in the charging station before deciding we were thirsty & needed to cool down before we met Gaston. We headed over to Gaston's Tavern for some Lefou's Brew!!

Personally, I love this drink! I love the foam on top! I think I might even like it better than Butterbeer at the wizarding world :O We sat inside for a long time. I'm talking 40 minutes long time. It must have been 100 degrees outside! We grabbed a cup of ice and I bought a water bottle to fill my water bottle...haha. We met gaston and headed over to the teacups, and did a couple other rides. We had to be back at BOG for 1:55 for our lunch reservation!

We checked in on time for our lunch reservation and walked inside. We had preordered but the line was still pretty long - maybe about 10-15 minutes (the people in front of us were very indecisive). We took a seat in the Rose Gallery and waited for our food. One of the CMs who worked breakfast in the morning came up to us and said "Hey, weren't you here this morning?"...we got a good laugh of it and were slightly embarrassed that we got recognized! We both ordered the carved turkey sandwich & fries with a drink.

I think it came out to around $14 and it was worth every penny! This was delicious :) I have now had breakfast, lunch and dinner at BOG and I think I would only go back for lunch. The turkey was cooked well, the dijon mayo tasted awesome and the arugla/onion/tomato mix wasn't overpowering (which I was worried about). The fries were very salty, however, I shook them off a little and they were fine. I would order this again!

After lunch we headed over to the hub to grab a spot for Festival of Fantasy! I thought I was going to die - it was SOOOO hot. There were tons of leaders and CMs walking around with spray fans trying to keep everyone cool. The parade was INCREDIBLE. Hands down my new favourite parade at MK. The PAC lady in front of us was awesome too, and so were the people around us :) Love making Disney friends! Caitlyn wanted to stay for move it, shake it (is that what its called still?) anyways, I decided I was too hot to participate in the dancing so I moved into a shaded area and watched her dance with woody.

We wandered through frontierland and met up with a friend after watching county bear jambouree...and then decided to take the train around a couple times...except then we decided we wanted to watch dream along with mickey so we got off at main street and caught the show! I'm pretty sure we charged our phones and got water and stuff again after this (theme of the day, LOL). We also had our fastpasses for 7 dwarves mine train and anna + elsa so we did those as well. I will say 7DMT was awesome!!! Not super thrilling but very well done. Ana and Elsa were good - I enjoyed Ana's interaction a lot. Eventually we decided that it was time to eat dinner, and we knew we wanted either Pecos or Cosmic Rays. Since Pecos discontinued the taco salad, we decided on Cosmic Rays.

We both got the 1/3 lb angus burger with cheese and bacon. I got mine with no cheese, Caitlyn got hers with no bacon. We also both loaded up at the toppings bar! The burger was your typical disney burger - but it did the job. We got chatting with a really awesome CM here (again, another theme of our trip) and decided to let the leader know how great she was :)

After Cosmic Rays, it was time for Wishes!! We grabbed a spot on main street - again, still super hot outside, especially with all the people. We were trying to stay for EMH as well. We hit some rides after wishes and decided we wanted Dole Whips. NOOOOOOOO IT WAS CLOSED! We took that as a sign that it was time for us to leave; it was almost 1am at this point. Overall a long, but awesome day!

After sleeping in a little, we got ready and headed over to Grand Floridian! We had reservations at 12:30pm for lunch!! It's one of my favourite spots to hit for lunch - so yummy :) We saw the carriage with a wedding party inside, which was awesome!

Here is a picture of it!

We checked in for our reservation and were seated pretty much right away. There seemed to be some people waiting but the restaurant was fairly open when we got there. It filled up by the time we were finished though.

I didn't even need the menu - I knew I was getting the Cafe Sandwich, which is an open-faced hot Ham, smoked Turkey breast, Bacon, and Tomato with a boursin cheese sauce and fried onion straws for $14.49. I got it without ham, because I cant stand it! This was served a little differently than the first two times I have had this sandwich; previous times the sauce was on the sandwich, this time it was on the side. I think I prefer it on the side so I can control how much goes on there! I also added fries on the side because the sandwich is rich and sometimes you need a little break.

I couldn't finish the sandwich but it sure was delicious! Our server gave us the dessert menu but we knew that we were heading over to the poly for dole whips, so we passed.

Overall this meal was great. GFC will be on my list of restaurants for my next trip, although I would love to try breakfast!

Next: Dole Whips @ Poly and Olive Garden for dinner!

I nearly had a heart attack and was going to frantically message you because I thought you accidentally posted your credit card and I didn't want anyone to steal your money.

Fun report so far! Thanks for sharing!

That sandwich looks delicious :goodvibes

Its SO good!! GFC is such a hidden gem. I've also had dinner there and it was really good :)

I am on board for your reviews!! Keep that food porn rolling please!

Thanks :) more to come!

You aren't the first person to say that LOL. I actually took a second glance at the picture and was like WHAT then remembered that it was fake because us Canadians can't have disney chase cards!

Sunday Continued

After leaving GFC we walked around for a bit and made our way over to the monorail to go to Poly for Dole Whips. We must have walked past Pinapple Lanai 5 times before we found it...so embarrassing LOL. Anyways, we finally found it and got our massive dole whips! MMM. My favourite disney treat :) We both agreed that we liked the new poly lobby - it doesn't smell the same but its much more open and more modern!

We headed back to the resort and walked around for a bit, taking pictures with all the big statues at ASMovies. I think the theming is great, especially if you have kids! I'm pretty sure we just watched tv for a little bit and cooled off before heading out for dinner. I had a free appetizer from Olive Garden PLUS we dont have it at home so we went there! Word to the wise: never get an appetizer at olive garden. You will get full before your meal and eat nothing.

We ordered the Lasagne Fritta to start along with salad and breadsticks. I had the cheese ravioli with meat sauce, and Caitlyn had the chicken masala I believe.

I had like 3 half raviloi's. It was really good - I love olive garden!!!

We then headed over to Downtown Disney for some last minute shopping and more treats from goofys. I got a Mickey Mouse rice treat on a stick this time. After getting some inside out tsum tsums and wandering around WOD a couple times, we called it a night because we had an early breakfast reservation the next morning!

Up Next: Kona, Beignets at POFQ & ASMovies Food Court!

Following along! Great pictures, the food looks delicious!

We are considering visiting Boma on our next trip. Not a fan of buffets, but Boma looks lovely. Also would love to try the Cafe Sandwich at GFC.

Do they have swirl dole whip at pineapple lanai? I heard they got rid of it in adventureland, so I'm looking for a good place to get them!

Looks like you had a lovely meal at Olive Garden :) one of my favorite places for sure! Can't wait for Kona! Did you do breakfast? We are going in September and I'm already excited about Tonga toast!

I want to say yes? I'm pretty sure I saw it there!!

We did breakfast!! I love Kona breakfast. It's also fairly inexpensive which is nice because I'm not a huge breakfast eater!

We stopped for lunch in Cranberry, PA at Chick-Fil-A. We don't have it here in Canada so we were both super excited to eat this for lunch! Can I just say they have GREAT customer service? Love it.

I passed your comment on to someone I know who works at that location!

Awesome :) I think I saw it on another TR somewhere, so it does exist still, just apparently not in Adventureland :P

I'm so excited for Kona :) Can't wait to read about your experience!

On to the last day!

We got up super early because we had a 7:30 am breakfast reservation at Kona! We were late because we slept in a little bit, but maybe only 5 minutes or so. It was super empty when we got there but full when we left.

I got the Macadamia nut pancakes with a side of bacon. OMG THESE WERE DELICIOUS!! Blew Tonga Toast out of the water in my opinion. I was soo happy I got these, and so sad that I couldn't finish them:( Caitlyn got the ham and cheese omelette and said it was good! She drove me back to the resort and we parted ways :( SEE YOU IN NOVEMBER!!!

Anyways, after packing up and laying around, I checked my luggage and headed over to Port Orleans FQ for some beignets! It started to pour and was pretty busy, but I found a table outside underneath the cover. These were also delicious :) I got the smaller order.

I headed back to the resort and had some time to kill so I figured I should get some lunch, since I was pretty hungry by this point. I had made a mental note to get the taco salad so thats what I did. It was huge. I couldn't even finish half of it! You get to choose what toppings go inside which is nice. I was kind of sad that I couldn't bring it on DME. I also got a crispy rice treat to bring home!!

Sadly it was time to get on the magical express and start my journey home :( I grabbed chick fil a before getting on the plane and had some bad mcdonalds when I landed in Buffalo. Overall it was a lot of food but I got to try some new foods and places! Can't wait to come back as a cast member in november and start working my way through all the restaurants!

Thanks for following along everybody :)
