Detroit Sleep, Park and Fly

Any recommendations? We are only 1 hour from Detroit but since our flight leaves at 7:30 a.m. in February we are thinking it might be better to stay the night before rather than risk the weather. We usually do not stay the night and park at Airlines Parking for around $70 for 8 days. Looking for a hotel for under $100.

Check out the La Quinta Inns & Suites - not sure of your dates but rooms start at $89 and they have a shuttle to the airport.

I personally love staying at the Westin right at the airport - if you stay on a Friday or Saturday night the rates are OK and you can get offers for 10 nights of VALET parking for a penny. But it's definitely more than $100.

I've looked at the Sleep, Park and Fly but from the few times I have stayed at Detroit airport hotels some of them have been pretty iffy and one downright scary! :) It is nice to know that they aren't too bad before you get there.

The last time we stayed in Detroit we stayed at the Westin in the airport with valet parking for $99 (5 years ago) but when I looked yesterday it was going to be $225+ and I can't justify spending that for less than 10 hours of use and 10 days parking :) The nice thing though is that your vehicle is warm and waiting for you when you arrive. I plan to keep an eye on it to see if the rate drops between now and February.

I have looked at the LaQuinta and it seems to be the best I came across so far. Nice to know others have stayed there and like it.

Thanks :)

We have stayed at the Baymont Inn & Suites on Wickham Road, Romulus at least 3 times, and its good. It's probably more basic than some of the others but we have always found it super clean, safe in the area it is, the parking is on-site and you don't have to leave your keys, the shuttle has always been good. All in all I would recommend it and have booked using parksleepfly website.

If you are flying Delta I recommend the Westin. The valet parking is nice and they have their own security gate into the terminal from the hotel lobby - although it may not be open that early. Super easy coming home too - walk out of the terminal and your car is waiting for you. Worth the $ in my opinion.

Fairfield inn and suites...seriously, the best!!! Super clean rooms, cheapish park and fly, and the shuttle to the airport was frequent and super quick!!! It's incredibly close to the airport, in fact, it felt like it was right in it lol, but we didn't hear any planes! We will always stay here now, it was super affordable! They also do cash deposit for the night if you'd rather over a credit card, and cash is returned the next morning :)

Agreed. It does cost more money but your vacation will start the second that you pull up to the front door and are greeted by the valet service. The aura and atmosphere of staying here is a great experience. And Nothing beats phoning up for your car while you are retrieving your luggage and having a warm car with no snow on it waiting for you

We have stayed at the Westin before but really weren't that impressed with it other than the valet parking and coming back to a heated car in February :) We had a room in the gate area but the window was covered in bird crap and our room was at least a 15 minute walk from the reception desk! Although not a huge deal, we could get no where near the bar to get a drink as it was overfilled with no place to stand even, so we had a couple of outrageously priced beer from the minibar  Anyway, this time we are departing from North Terminal.
