I see you are staying at the Poly in December? If so then I wouldn't worry about the POP crowd. If you were staying at one of the value resorts I would be a little nervous. You really don't see their presence in the parks anyways, just back at the hotel. But I got to say that I have stayed at AS Sports during POP and the kids were not bad at all. I just came back from a trip, stayed at Sports during a cheerleading competition. Now that was awful. I booked a standard room and that was my biggest mistake. They stuck me in the boonies surrounded by a bunch of loud teenagers, lol.

Just got a discount code in the mail for 8/28-11/24 and 11/28-12/23. Not sure yet if we'll switch from our points stay at the Dolphin to POR or CBR (25% off) or 2 rooms at POP (20% off). We'll probably leave it as is but it's tempting...

Called today to book 3 rooms at GF for 12/2-12/9. I figured I was going either way, so I'd lock the rack rate and hope for a discount. When I gave my daughter's name for the 2nd reservation, the CM said "Oh, she has a UOC". Turns out I got 30% discount on all 3 rooms. My lucky day, I guess.

We just got a discount code in the mail too. We're already booked at the Boardwalk for Dec 6-12, and were able to get our 30% discount. Looks like it's our lucky day too.

I'm only there for the 6th. They check-in, I check-out. Thankfully I am at Pop when at the value so hopefully they are off at the All-Stars.

I can't wait to get home from visiting family to check my mail box (which will be another week - eek)! If I got a code for 30% off a deluxe, we could afford to switch from Contemporary to Grand Floridian.

I'm kind of bummed. I have never gotten one of these. Disney sends me surveys and all kinds of other stuff but not one discount code. Kind of a bummer. Congrats to those that have received them though .

Well, I was going to go first 2 weeks of December, staying at All Star and had booked flights with points. I have now cancelled hotel and airfare and will now go to Disneyland instead. I got a decently priced Anaheim hotel stay in November just before Thanksgiving. I went last year to participate in the Avengers run around the same time and it was not as busy. I just couldn't wait anymore to see what discounts were going to happen at WDW. I'll still get my Disney fix for less money (I'm a DL annual pass holder).

For those people who may be concerned about Pop Warner -- I have to admit I never really noticed them except for the food court area. If you end up being in the same section, I would go ask to be moved if it seems overwhelming.

I also just called and played dumb about UOC and they found a pin on my account. Good for 30% off some deluxes and 20% off some moderates.

I ended up upgrading from AoA non-suite to POR because there wasn't anything suiting my fancy in the deluxe options (standard rooms).

I will be looking out for pass holder discounts for standard rooms at beach club.

I haven't been able to get any availability at POP for my dates with the UOC I have. I can book at a regular rate, but the UOC are unavailable at the moment. I keep checking though.

Potentially stupid question. If i have a UOC, is it possible that the availability for that code will change over time?

I think the availability does change over time. When I called, the CM said if I called a few days earlier, I could have gotten 3 logoon view rooms. But I had to settle for 1 lagoon and 2 pool view at 30% off. Whoa is me! HA! Make the call.

Is there something going on the first to second week of December? I always remember rates being less expensive that time of year but I am only seeing sky high rates. Grant it, I haven't been to WDW in several years. Has something changed (other than price increases)? Are any discounts or packages expected to still come out for that time frame?

Not a stupid question! Yes, the availability can change over time. Let's say I booked a room at POP with that code and then I decide I want to book a room at CBR with that code, my room at POP would then become available for someone else. Disney puts aside a certain amount of rooms for the codes. Which is why it's crazy I can get a regular priced room at POP and not a UOC room. I know they have rooms available, it's just the ones that they have "set aside" for the discount are gone right now.

If you keep checking, the availability could change.

Used to be that free dining was offered for the first week of December, it was when we went in 2013. I think more people are going in early December now, so they don't need as many promotions.

I checked today and a room at POP became available for me to use my UOC. I saved 40 bucks from my rack rate reservation. Not much, but that will pay for many Mickey ice cream bars for hubby and me!

If you have a UOC and no availability at the resort you want... keep checking!!
