Anyone else concerned about One Man's Dream in DHS?

Aren't there huge holes in Epcot to fill up??? Innoventions?

Close that down and throw it in there.

I'll be honest with you One Mans Dream doesn't belong in Hollywood Studios? It needs to be in Magic Kingdom or Epcot!

I agree with everyone's saying another location (or park)( at WDW may be much better suited, as long as it stays.

I love that exhibit and agree that another place should be found for it on property - in the MK would be perfect. Better still, find another place for the exhibit at WDW and swap out some of the exhibits. Having seen Treasures of the Disney Archives at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago last year and visited the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco in 2013, there is a great deal of Walt-related material that I think would be very popular with fans of One Man's Dream - probably more the Archives material as I think a lot of the material at the WD Family Museum may actually be owned by the family.
Even though Walt said it all started with a mouse, we know it all started with him.

It's kind of funny to me how folks are arguing that One Man's Dream should be left alone and not be changed. Do you all realize that it's been there for less than 14 years? It opened on 10/1/2001 when they kicked off the celebration of Walt Disney's 100th birthday. So the Studios was open for 12-1/2 years before this attraction came to be.

Several of you have suggested that it ought to go in MK. Guess what? That's exactly where it used to be. Formerly called The Walt Disney Story, it occupied the very first building on the right as you enter the park after passing under the train station. It was in the spot now occupied by that theater-themed gift shop and the magician Mickey meet and greet (I think that's what is still there). You entered into a long room filled with cases of Disney history and memorabilia. Then you went into a theater for a 25-minute film. That let you out into another room that featured models, artwork, and more focus on current and future development. For example, in the early 1980's, it was the EPCOT preview center. In the mid-90s, it was the AK preview center.

All of that said, I totally and completely agree that it should be maintained in some form in one of the parks. Honestly, I don't care which. AK would probably be my last choice just because I think it fits better in one of the others. But ultimately, some tribute to Walt has been present since day one. I suspect they will give it new life in a new location. I hope it isn't gone for long.

EPCOT should get first pick of the inventory at DisneyQuest when it gets gutted.
One Man's Dream can fit anywhere in DHS, they could move the attraction closer to the Crossroads or Sunset Blvd. The theme would fit fine. Even if the items on loan were gone, it'd still be enough to maintain the status of a popular walk-in attraction.

A few posters mentioned that EPCOT has room. I think An ideal place to incorporate One Man's Dream and The Art of Animation stuff would be at the Imagination Pavilion. Keep Figment as I adore him but somehow weave in the magic and imagination of animation. The unused upstairs area of the pavilion would be a great place for drawing the characters in a classroom setting or two and One Man's dream could occupy the theater space where Captain EO, Honey I shrunk and other 3D movies were/are shown. IMHO. I do hope to keep Walt's presence in an attraction.

Somehow we just need to figure out how to give One Man's Dream a Frozen overlay, then we won't have anything to worry about!

Shouldn't be that hard considering Snow Queen was being considered for their first full length animated movie before Snow White was selected. It can be the tale of a movie selected by Walt that was almost 80 years in the making!

Absolutely. And frankly, I think it's kinda disgusting to get rid of the only real, substantial tribute to Walt on property. It's insulting to the man's legacy.

One Man's Dream is like going to church for me. It's a treasure of WDW, and one of the few things that I thought was untouchable in Hollywood Studios. It's the soul of that park, and they're gonna rip it away. It better reappear somewhere, but HS (and WDW as a whole) is definitely gonna feel a little empty without it, no matter how much Star Wars they throw at it. You cannot have Walt Disney World without an attraction dedicate to the man that made it all possible, you just can't. It's spitting in the face of history.
I think Tonyz is 100% correct. It would be a spit in the face to Walts legacy. Why does everyone say jst move it to MK??? How about just LEAVE it alone!!!! It means more to me than some Star Wars expansion

I have to say, this is about the only spot that you can see where it all started from. I get that they have some big plans, but honestly what will be left? I do hope that they move it if the space is needed but really some things need to be kept to remember the legacy.

As I said earlier, MK is actually where it was originally, before they moved it to DHS. The Walt Disney Story was in Town Square from 1973 until 1992. Then it went away for a while before One Man's Dream opened at DHS in 2001.

I just hope it doesn't take them 9 years to relocate it this time around.

I'll agree on the MK. However, if not there then the Studio is a great place for it since its reminiscent of the Hollywood era when Walt arrived and began what ultimately became the Walt Disney Company.

Whatever Disney decides to do with the Studios, I would love to see them keep / further develop an "old Hollywood" themed area. I think that would be a perfect place for relocating "One Man's Dream". If not, they need to relocate it to a different WDW park. I think it's so vital to have an exhibit to tell the Walt Disney story from a historical perspective. Future generations need to have the opportunity!

Agree with all of these excellent comments. Just hope TDO reads them.

If not, Please, People, Write to Disney with your thoughts! I think if enough of us do that they will take notice.

The film at the end of the exhibit used to be at California Adventure out in Disneyland. It was removed to put in Turtle Talk. They had an incredible display and film hosted by Steve Martin on Main Street in Disneyland for the 50th. It was temporary. If Walt's original park won't keep a proper tribute open and going I sadly doubt WDW will. It will break my heart. But let's face it, repeat guest favorites do not figure into the equation of what are priorities anymore by the powers that be. There's no gift shop for little princesses to buy Frozen merchandise and once Star Wars Land becomes a reality it will be all about that.

I just read somewhere that the last day is September 30th, they said it was confirmed but considering that they we were the only people saying that makes me question it. Does anybody have more information?

Last year, I took my non-Disney-loving hubby on a trip to WDW. We went into One Man's Dream because I wanted him to see the history behind the man that started it all. It really touched him and we look forward to visiting again when we return this August (hopefully if it's still there). We just found out about the citizenship test they do there and he thought that would be neat to do. I hope they don't get rid of it completely. Like someone said above, there aren't very many tributes to Walt in the parks and this one is a really good one we will miss dearly.
